A system includes an imager, a processor, and an output module. The imager is configured to provide a plurality of tissue images. The processor is coupled to the imager and is configured to receive the plurality of images. The processor is coupled to a memory. The memory has instructions for determining classification of a region of tissue associated with the plurality of tissue images. Determining classification includes fusing discriminator outputs from a region covariance descriptor and from a normalized color histogram discriminator. The output module is coupled to the processor. The output module is configured to provide a three dimensional representation of the tissue.

Computer vision for cancerous tissue recognition

Systems, techniques, and devices for detecting plant biometrics, for example, plants in a crop field. An imaging device of an unmanned vehicle may be used to generate a plurality of images of the plants, and the plurality of images may be used to generate a 3D model of the plants. The 3D model may define locations and orientations of leaves and stems of plants. The 3D model may be used to determine at least one biometric parameter of at least one plant in the crop. Such detection of plant biometrics may facilitate the automation of crop monitoring and treatment.

Pixel color values representing an image of a portion of a field are received where each pixel color value has a respective position within the image. A processor identifies groups of the received pixel color values as possibly representing a Nitrogen-deficient plant leaf. For each group of pixel color values, the processor converts the pixel color values into feature values that describe a shape and the processor uses the feature values describing the shape to determine whether the group of pixel color values represents a Nitrogen-deficient leaf of a plant. The processor stores in memory an indication that the portion of the field is deficient in Nitrogen based on the groups of pixel color values determined to represent a respective Nitrogen-deficient leaf.

Systems and methods for determining park stall occupancy are disclosed herein. The systems and methods include receiving a three dimensional representation of a parking stall in a parking lot. The systems and methods also include processing the three dimensional representation to determine occupancy of the parking stall. The parking stall has a boundary relative to the area.

Miniature robotic vehicles suitable for a variety of tasks including covert surveillance, reconnaissance, and recreation are provided. Embodiments of the invention may include vehicles having a hybrid transportation system that incorporates a rotary-wing flight mode in conjunction with a wheeled ground transport mode. Using an image of the scene, an overlap area is calculated by projecting portions of the image onto spaced apart and parallel planes. A filter correlates the overlap area to the number of members.

Crowd counting and monitoring

A miniature, rugged robotic vehicle suitable for a variety of tasks including covert surveillance and reconnaissance. The vehicle may include a unitary single-piece chassis that provides structural rigidity to the vehicle and protection of onboard equipment. The vehicle may be configured to be thrown or dropped into an intended target site from a remote location. In one embodiment, the vehicle may include a wheel assembly having a tire with shock absorption capabilities in both radial and axial directions to cushion the vehicle from impact loads experienced during delivery. In some embodiments, the wheel assemblies may couple to a drive motor assembly of the vehicle via a clutch assembly that permits slippage between components to reduce potential damage to drive train components.

Ruggedized robotic vehicles

A powered wheel assembly, and method and ground-engaging vehicle (e.g., a robotic vehicle) using the same, are provided. The vehicle incorporates at least one of the wheel assemblies on its chassis body. In addition to its ability to propel the vehicle across a surface, the wheel assembly is reconfigurable between a retracted configuration, wherein the wheel assembly has a first rolling diameter, and an expanded configuration, wherein the wheel assembly has a second rolling diameter greater than the first rolling diameter. A drive motor assembly may both rotate the wheel assembly, e.g., propel the vehicle across a surface, and selectively actuate the wheel assembly from the first rolling diameter to the second rolling diameter, or to any intermediate rolling diameter.

Adjustable diameter wheel assembly, and methods and vehicles using same

A robotic vehicle capable of traveling over various terrain and traversing obstacles. In one embodiment, the vehicle includes a cylindrical body having two or more drive wheels coupled to the ends thereof. The wheels are selectively powered to propel the vehicle. The vehicle may further include a spring member which may be deflected to a first, stored position from a second, extended position. The spring member may be quickly released from the first, stored position such that it strikes the terrain with sufficient force to lift and propel the vehicle over or onto a proximate obstacle or object. Robotic vehicles of the present invention may also include one or more sensing devices operable to collect information. Electronics may further permit autonomous, semi-autonomous, and/or remote control of the vehicle. In still other embodiments, the robotic vehicle forms part of a multi-robot surveillance team. The robotic vehicles may be delivered to the desired location through the use of a deployment and communication apparatus which, in one embodiment, is a larger robotic vehicle. The deployment and communication apparatus may form part of the communication system between the robotic vehicles and a remote workstation.
