Techniques for providing a graphical user interface for an audio channel include receiving data that indicates multiple audio contents for audio presentation at a first node. A graphical user interface is formed, which displays a time sequence of the plurality of audio contents for presentation, and which associates with each audio content one or more selectable operations on the audio content. Presentation of the graphical user interface is caused at a second node. In response to causing presentation of the graphical user interface, data is received that indicates an associated operation on audio content based on input from the second node.

Audio service graphical user interface

Techniques for providing network services at an audio interface unit include determining, based on spoken sounds of a user of an apparatus received at a microphone of the apparatus, whether to present audio data received from a different apparatus. If it is determined to present the received audio data, then presentation of the received audio data at a speaker of the apparatus is initiated. In some embodiments, an apparatus includes a data communications bus; and logic encoded in one or more tangible media configured to performs the above steps. In some embodiments, the apparatus does not include a visual display and does not include a keypad of multiple buttons.

Slide assembly

A keymat for use with a mobile station. The keymat includes a web for interconnecting a plurality of keys, the web and the keys lying external to the mobile-station enclosure when the mobile station is fully assembled. Means for retaining the keymat provide for it to be held in place during normal operation but permitting it to be removed so that user may exchange it for another. A plurality of key pins extending from the keys through openings in the mobile-station external housing may, but are not necessarily exchangeable with the keymat.

Keymat

A transformable mobile station. The mobile station has a display that is substantially framed by the mobile station housing. The housing has two sections that are rotatably connected to each other so that in a first configuration they frame the display and in a transformed configuration, one or more sides of the display are unframed, and the unframed sides may be placed next to the display of another display-compatible mobile station. The two (or more) display-compatible mobile stations may be connected together such that their respective displays each form a portion of a larger, unified display.

Transformable mobile station

A mobile telephone includes a body, a display, and a keypad. The keypad is removably secured to the body and coupled to a processor. The keypad is depressible along a plurality of directions and can be switched between a first mode and second mode, wherein each combination of depressible direction and mode represent a unique group of alphanumeric letters. The processor includes word recognition software, such that a desired word can be determined from the sequence of groups of letters selected without having to select each individual letter.

Keypads style input device for electrical devices

A hingeless folding mobile station. The mobile station includes at least two halves that is separate enclosures each holding a portion of the mobile station's internal components. A flexible connector connects the components housed in one section of the enclosure with the internal components housed in the other. The two halves of the mobile station are held together by a retainer such as an elastomeric band that is stretched around the outer end of each section and around a series of return points located near the inner end of each the mobile station enclosure sections. A series of grooves or extensions are formed in various locations about the mobile station in order to retain the elastomeric band in place. When in place, the elastomeric band has been stretched from its normal resting length so that a tension force is constantly applied.

Hingeless mobile station

A portable electronic device with a stowable assembly. The stowable assembly may be stowed substantially within the housing of the portable electronic device. In the presently preferred embodiment, the stowable assembly has a display and a hide-away keyboard having at least one key.

A portable device having a main unit and a keyboard unit. The main unit includes a display and the keyboard unit includes a full alphabet keyboard. Furthermore, the keyboard unit has a closed position and an open position. In the closed position a portion of the display is obstructed by the keyboard unit, and in the open position the display is unobstructed by the keyboard unit. The full alphabet keyboard is operable in both the closed position and the open position.

A folding mobile telephone having a dual-movement hinge. The hinge movably attaches one section of the mobile phone to another in such a way that there are at least two ways to access the various features of the mobile phone that are hidden from view in a closed position. The hinge includes a longitudinal pin having a first end that is disposed within a sleeve attached to the first enclosure section, and a second end that is disposed within a sleeve that is attached to the second enclosure section. As a result, the sections may be moved longitudinally with respect to each other for a portion of their length by sliding one or both sleeves away from the other along the pin. The sections may also be rotated about the pin to move the mobile telephone to an open position. In this way a user may selectively access all, or only a portion of the encloseable components and features of the mobile telephone.
