The present disclosure relates to computer-implemented methods, software, and systems for an automatic recovery job execution through a scheduling framework in a cloud environment. One or more recovery jobs are scheduled to be performed periodically for one or more registered service components included in a service instance running on a cluster node of a cloud platform. Each recovery job is associated with a corresponding service component of the service instance. A health check operation is invoked at a service component based on executing a recovery job at the scheduling framework corresponding to the service component. In response to determining that the service component needs a recovery measure based on a result from the health check operation, a recovery operation is invoked as part of executing a set of scheduled routines of the recovery job. Implemented logic for the recovery operation is stored and executed at the service component.

Auto-recovery framework

The present disclosure relates to computer-implemented methods, software, and systems for detecting outages in a multiple availability zone cloud environment. Structured data defining network connectivity statuses of network segments is received. Multiple availability zones of the first cloud platform are defined in a multiple availability zone cloud architecture. External structure data defining inbound connectivity statuses of the network segments correspondingly defined for the availability zones of the first cloud platform is iteratively collecting. The inbound connectivity statuses define availability for an entity running at an external cloud platform to the first cloud platform to connect to at least one entity running at the first cloud platform. In response to evaluating the internal and external structured data, determining a health status of the first cloud platform to be provided to platform services provided by the first cloud platform and/or applications running on the first cloud platform to support managing of lifecycle of entities running on the first cloud platform.

Detecting outages in a multiple availability zone cloud environment

The present disclosure relates to computer-implemented methods, software, and systems for detecting outages in a cloud environment. Internal web agents installed at corresponding network segments of a first cloud platform and external web agents installed at an external second cloud platform are configured to perform network calls between themselves and the other web agents. Data from the internal web agents is automatically collected to generate structured data defining network connectivity status corresponding to the network segments of the first cloud platform based on the performed network calls between the internal and external web agents. In response to evaluating the structured data, a health status of network connectivity of the first cloud platform is determined. The health status can be provided to platform services provided by the first cloud platform and/or applications running on the first cloud platform to support managing of lifecycles of entities running on the first cloud platform.

Auto-recovery job scheduling framework

A method for validating a traffic management pool that includes a first traffic management device and a second traffic management device may include forming the traffic management pool. The traffic management pool may be formed by modifying a configuration of the first traffic management device to route requests for a cloud-based application based at least on an availability of a first instance of the cloud-based application at a first cloud platform landscape. Synchronicity within the traffic management pool may be validated based on the modification to the configuration of the first traffic management device being propagated to the second traffic management device such that the second traffic management device is also configured to route the requests for the cloud-based application based on the availability of the first instance of the cloud-based application. Related systems and articles of manufacture are also provided.

Validation of a traffic management pool

A disaster recovery data store may contain an operator-defined parallel account failover value. A disaster recovery service platform may establish a primary region as an active region and determine that a potential disaster has occurred in connection with the primary region. A warm-up process may be initiated causing a pool of virtual machines to begin execution at a secondary region. The platform may then determine that an actual disaster has occurred in connection with the primary region and simultaneously execute disaster recovery failover procedures from the primary region to the secondary region for multiple accounts in parallel based on the operator-defined parallel account failover value. Before all failover procedures are complete, the platform may transmit at least one intermediate failover report. After all failover procedures are complete, the platform may transmit a final failover report and establish the secondary region as the active region using the pool of virtual machines.

Enhanced disaster recovery procedure of applications in a cloud environment

Some embodiments provide a system and method associated with disaster recovery from a primary region to a secondary region of a cloud landscape. A disaster recovery service platform may determine that a disaster recovery event has occurred and transmit an indication of the disaster recovery event. A messaging server, coupled to the disaster recovery service platform, may receive the indication of the disaster recovery event transmitted by the disaster recovery service platform and process the received indication via a message-oriented middleware protocol (e.g., in accordance with a subscription/publication framework. The messaging server may then arrange for at least one client receiver to receive information associated with the disaster recovery event. The disaster recover event might be associated with, for example, customer onboarding (or offboarding) a customer account failover (or failback), change in landscape, etc.

Notification mechanism for disaster recovery events

A method may include disabling disaster recovery for a cloud-based application by determining that a domain name system (DNS) service has been reconfigured to map a custom domain of the cloud-based application to a uniform resource locator (URL) of a first instance of the cloud-based application deployed at a first cloud platform landscape instead of a URL of a global traffic management (GTM) cluster. The GTM cluster may be reconfigured to remove configurations for directing, based on an availability of the first instance of the cloud-based application, requests for the cloud-based application to the first instance of the cloud-based application and/or a second instance of the cloud-based application deployed at the second cloud platform landscape. The DNS service and/or the GTM cluster may be reconfigured such that future requests for the cloud-based application are routed to the first instance of the cloud-based application and not the GTM cluster.

An HTTP tunneling service is described for creating a tunneled path between a client and a server (e.g., over a firewall or other data/protocol filtering device). According to one embodiment of the invention the client sends the server an initial request to open a preliminary socket connection which includes a secure client ID previously assigned to the client. The server opens the preliminary socket connection, generates a random client ID and transmits the random client ID to the client. The preliminary socket connection is then closed. The client then sends a second request to open a second socket connection using both the unique ID and the secure client ID for authentication purposes.
