The present invention overcomes the problem of image detail timing jitters in flat panel display devices by compensating for the phase difference between the dot clock derived by the Horizontal-sync signal and the display data. This is done by providing an apparatus and method for detecting the phase difference between the red, green and blue signal transitions and the dot clock signal that has been regenerated from the Horizontal sync signal. The detected phase difference is then applied, in a feedback fashion, to synchronize the dot clock phase with the signal transitions.

The present invention provides precision adjustment of an electronic signal over a range greater than 360.degree. with a single control input which may be either mechanical or electrical.

Wide range phase shift with single adjustment

The present invention provides an apparatus and methods to reduce the stray magnetic fields created by the yoke assembly of a cathode ray tube (CRT) visual display device, and emitted from the CRT enclosure. A pair of closed wire loops are brought into contact with the yoke at the point where maximum magnetic radiation is emitted. The magnetic flux emitted from the yoke is coupled into the wire loop pair, inducing therein a current which flows so as to produce an opposing magnetic field to that produced by the CRT yoke. A capacitor in series in the second loop serves to increase the magnitude of the magnetic field produced by the second loop. Measured at a distance, the counteracting magnetic field reduces the total magnetic field emitted from the CRT enclosure.
