Disclosed is an elevator system, including a gateway configured to: receive, from an elevator car controller of an elevator car, car controller data for the elevator car that includes a car positional log of the elevator car; receive, from a beacon mounted to the elevator car, car operational data for the elevator car that includes car and door data representing car and door events; and transmit, to one of an elevator management center and a cloud service, a combination of the car controller data and the car operational data to identify an alert condition and a position of the elevator car during the alert condition, wherein the gateway or the one of the elevator management center and the cloud service is configured to stitch together the car controller data and the car operational data to identify the alert condition and position of the elevator car during the alert condition.

Embodiments include techniques for developing a model framework for remote unit monitoring condition-based maintenance. The techniques include collecting data associated with unplanned service requests, and generating one or more models from the collected data. The techniques also include predicting unplanned service requests based at least in part on the one or more models, and transmitting an output of the prediction of the unplanned service request.

A monitoring system includes one or more detection devices, a communication device, and an analytics system. The one or more detection devices generate, at a conveyance system, one or more data streams describing the ride of the conveyance system, where the data streams include at least one of vibration data and audio data. The analytics system receives the sensor data from the communication device and, based on the sensor data, determines a ride quality of the conveyance system.

A method of detecting a location of a conveyance apparatus within a conveyance system including: detecting a sync sensor along a path of a conveyance apparatus at a first point in time, the sync sensor being at a known location along the path of the conveyance apparatus; monitoring a first acceleration of the conveyance apparatus along a first axis from the first point in time to a second point in time; determining a first distance away from the sync sensor along the path of the conveyance apparatus in response to the first acceleration of the conveyance apparatus and a period of time between the first point in time and the second point in time; and determining a first location of the conveyance apparatus along the path of the conveyance apparatus in response to the known location of the sync sensor and the first distance away from the sync sensor.

An illustrative example elevator sensor device includes at least one sensor supported on a door of an elevator car. The sensor provides an output including an indication of at least movement of the door along at least one axis and movement of the elevator car along at least one axis. A processor associated with the at least one sensor receives the output and determines at least one characteristic of the movement of the door based on the indication of the movement of the door. The processor also determines a location of the elevator car where the movement of the door occurs based on the indication of movement of the elevator car.

The control configuration is configured to receive a parameter signal from the sensor, and extract a predesignated feature from data associated with the parameter signal. The predesignated feature is then aggregated by the control configuration and machine learning is applied to determine a degradation level of the function associated with the predesignated feature.
