A seat belt positioning mechanism that has a vehicle seat and an elastic tensioning member. The vehicle seat has a frame structure, a cushion portion covering the frame structure and a cover material covering the cushion portion. The cushion portion defines a main seating section and an outboard side seat section extending laterally outboard from a corresponding side of the main seating section. The side seat section defines an opening extending through the cushion portion. The opening is dimensioned to receive a seat belt extending therethrough. The cover material has a cover extension extending into the opening. The elastic tensioning member has a first end fixed to the frame structure and extends under the cover extension into the opening. The elastic tensioning member is dimensioned and shaped to bias the cover extension in an outboard direction against a part of the seat belt located within the opening.

Seat belt positioning mechanism

A buckle assembly comprises a buckle base bracket including at least one buckle base bracket ramp stop and at least one buckle base bracket reset ramp, and a buckle adjustment assembly. The buckle adjustment assembly includes a buckle strap coupled to the buckle base bracket such that the buckle adjustment assembly is capable of moving linearly along the buckle base bracket, a buckle head attached to the buckle strap, and a position locking unit coupled to the buckle strap, the position locking unit including a locking cam configured to prevent the buckle adjustment assembly from moving toward the proximal end of the buckle base bracket, and engage with a ramp surface of the buckle base bracket reset ramp to over-rotate the locking cam into a disengaged position such that the buckle adjustment assembly is movable in the first linear direction.

Adjustable buckle assembly

An apparatus for covering a child car seat attachment anchor includes a sleeve that is formed in a single piece, a slot in a first face of the sleeve that defines an opening extending towards a second face of the sleeve opposing the first face, and a rib of the sleeve located at an end of the opening forming a retention surface for the child car seat attachment anchor. The sleeve has an outer shape forming a quadrilaterally faced hexahedron. The retention surface extends in parallel with the second face. The apparatus can be used to cover an ISOFIX wire that extends from a seat crevasse.

A vehicle airbag assembly includes an attachment bracket, an elongated support member and an airbag. The attachment bracket attaches to a vehicle body member and includes a hinge portion. The elongated support member is pivotally connected to the attachment bracket for pivoting movement about a pivot axis defined by the hinge portion of the attachment bracket. The airbag is attached to the support member and defines a lengthwise direction. The pivot axis is non-parallel to the lengthwise direction. The airbag and the support member are movable together about the pivot axis. The hinge portion is configured to direct movement of the airbag and the support member from a stowed orientation to a deployed orientation upon inflation of the airbag.

Vehicle airbag assembly

A vehicle seat assembly includes a seatback with a seatback frame having a first frame member with forward and rearward edges relative to the seatback being in an upright orientation. An airbag is positioned along an outboard lateral side of the first frame member and is deployable from a stowed orientation to a deployed orientation from the outboard lateral side of the first frame member such that in the deployed orientation at least a portion of the airbag is located forward of the forward edge of the first frame member. A guide member is non-movably coupled to the first frame member. The guide member deflects a portion of an occupant of the vehicle seat assembly toward the airbag forward of the forward edge of the first frame member with the airbag in the deployed orientation in response to a lateral impact event.

Vehicle seat assembly

An airbag assembly for use in a vehicle includes at least one airbag panel that defines an inflatable portion and a non-inflatable portion. An external panel is connected to the at least one airbag panel at the non-inflatable portion thereof such that at least a portion of the external panel is positioned adjacent to the inflatable portion defined by the at least one airbag panel, wherein the external panel is non-inflatable.

Airbag assembly

A vehicle seat assembly includes a frame member, a seat bottom and a buckle assembly. The seat bottom is coupled to the frame member for pivotal movement within a movement range defined between a seating position and a retracted position in which the seat bottom angles upward. The buckle assembly includes a buckle arm and a seatbelt buckle. The buckle arm includes a first end coupled to the frame member for pivotal movement between a seating position corresponding to the seating position of the seat bottom and a retracted position corresponding to the retracted position of the seat bottom. The seatbelt buckle is coupled to a second end of the buckle arm. The buckle assembly is configured to pivot in response to pivoting movement of the seat bottom with the majority of the seatbelt buckle being maintained within the cutout throughout all of the movement range of the seat bottom.
