A method performed by a first node for adjusting channel coefficients of a wireless channel between the first node and a second node in a wireless communications network is provided. The first node obtains a calculated current correlation value between the first channel coefficients estimated in a first time instant, and the second channel coefficients estimated in a second time instant. The second time instant is subsequent to the first time instant. The first node obtains a previous correlation value calculated at a previous time instant. The first node determines a phase adjustment value based on an estimated phase difference to be applied to the estimated second channel coefficients associated with the wireless channel. The phase difference is estimated between the current correlation value and the previous correlation value.

In an aspect, a method of a radio base station () of controlling allocation of resources to wireless communication devices () is provided. The method comprises providing (S) a first location with radio coverage using at least a first frequency band and a second frequency band and a second location with radio coverage using the first frequency band, the second frequency band being located at a higher frequency than the first frequency band and temporarily reallocating (S) resources of the second frequency band from the first location to the second location upon acquiring an indication that a wireless communication device () at the second location requires improved coverage.

Methods and apparatus are provided for configuring a plurality of User Equipments (UEs) to communicate with a base station. A method for acquiring an indication of a preferred beam of a wireless communication device is disclosed. The method is performed in a network node of a cellular communication network. The network node is adapted to support a plurality of beams of a signal beam-forming scheme and to communicate with the wireless communication device using at least one beam of the plurality of beams. A message indicative of the beam power setting is transmitted to the wireless communication device. Measurement signals are also transmitted. A report indicative of the preferred beam is received from the wireless communication device. The preferred beam is determined by the wireless communication device based on the measurement signals and the beam power setting. The disclosure provides methods, a base station and network nodes relating to the assignment of pilot signals to wireless devices. One aspect provides a method including obtaining grouping information grouping one or more of the plurality of wireless devices together based at least in part on clustering information corresponding to each of the plurality of wireless devices and according to one or more clustering criterion, assigning at least one pilot signal to the one or more wireless devices based on the grouping information and transmitting the at least one pilot signal.

A technique for transmitting on a multiple-input channel from a transmitting device to at least one receiving device is described. As to a method of the technique, a quality of a channel estimate of the multiple-input channel from the transmitting device to the at least one receiving device is determined. A transmission on the multiple-input channel from the transmitting device to the at least one receiving device is performed. The transmission is spatially precoded using at least one precoder determined out of a set of precoders. A size of the set of precoders is an increasing or non-decreasing function of the determined quality of the channel estimate.

Technique for precoding a radio transmission

A channel matrix representing characteristics of a multi-path channel between a transmitter device () equipped with multiple transmitter antennas () and at least one receiver device () equipped with one or more receiver antennas (). The channel matrix is organized in one or more channel vectors each associated with a corresponding one of the one or more receiver antennas (). An iterative optimization algorithm is applied to determine a precoding matrix from the channel matrix. At least one step size of the iterative optimization algorithm is set depending on a vector norm of at least one of the channel vectors. There is provided mechanisms for determining beam settings for beam management. A method is performed by a first radio transceiver device. The method comprises obtaining information about expected distribution of second radio transceiver devices in a network coverage region of the first radio transceiver device in which the beam management is to be performed. The method comprises determining beam settings for a first set of beams and a second set of beams. The first set of beams and the second set of beams are to be used for the beam management. There are fewer beams in the first set of beams than in the second set of beams. The beams in the first set of beams collectively cover all beams in the second set of beams. The beam settings for the beams in the first set of beams are determined according to the obtained information.

Determining beam settings for beam management

Disclosed is a method and performed by a system of a wireless communication network for determining signal quality indications. The method includes determining a correlation between a quality of a signal received at a first wireless device and a quality of a signal received at a second wireless device, obtaining a first indication of quality of a signal received at the first wireless device, and determining a second indication of quality of signals received at the second wireless device based on the first indication and the determined correlation. The system may be implemented in a radio access network node.

Uplink radio transmissions () from a radio device () are scheduled by allocating radio resources for the uplink radio transmissions () and controlling a transmit power of the uplink radio transmissions (). Depending on a bandwidth of radio resources to be allocated for an uplink radio transmission () and a current value of the transmit power, an estimate of the signal-to-noise ratio of the uplink radio transmission () is determined. The estimate of the signal-to-noise ratio is compared to at least one of the lower target and the upper target. Depending on a result of the comparison, the bandwidth is adapted, and radio resources for the uplink radio transmission () are allocated in accordance with the adapted bandwidth.
