During a first portion (A) of an active time () of discontinuous reception (DRX) operation, a wireless device () monitors a control channel () using a first control channel monitoring configuration (-). During the active time (), though, the wireless device () switches from the first control channel monitoring configuration (-) to a second control channel monitoring configuration (-N). This switching may be triggered by occurrence of an event. During a second portion (OB) of the active time () occurring subsequent to the first portion (A) and after this switching, then, the wireless device () monitors the control channel () using the second control channel monitoring configuration (-N). The first portion (A) of the active time () and the second portion (OB) of the active time () may be included in the same DRX cycle.

Control channel monitoring in a wireless communication system

Techniques for enhancing performance in Industrial Internet-of-Things (IIoT) scenarios, including techniques for time-sensitive networking (TSN) and 5G wireless network integration. An example method, performed by a wireless device, comprises receiving system information (SI) from a radio base station (RBS) of a radio access network (RAN), the SI being indicative of support for TSN through the RBS, and establishing at least one TSN stream with an external data network, through the RBS. The example method further includes receiving a first timing signal from the wireless communications network, via the RBS, receiving a second timing signal from the external TSN data network to which the wireless device is connected, comparing the first timing signal to the second timing signal to determine an offset, and transmitting the offset to the wireless communications network.

Industrial automation with 5G and beyond

A method performed by a wireless device operating in a wireless communications network. The wireless device determines information to apply in the wireless device. The information is to receive one or more reference signals (RSs) while the wireless device is in inactive or idle state. The RSs are to be used to perform one or more tasks. The determining is based on one or more criteria. The criteria include a criterion of power consumption, and a target level of accuracy to be achieved in a performance of the tasks. The information includes: a pattern of reception of the RSs, and a configuration of a receiver. The information includes a bandwidth of reception of the RSs. The wireless device receives the RSs based on the determined information. The receiving of the RSs is performed while the wireless device is in inactive or idle state.

Wireless device, and methods performed thereby, for handling reception of one or more reference signals

There is disclosed a method of operating a terminal () in a wireless communication network, the method comprising receiving and/or transmitting according to a transmission time interval, TTI, configuration, the TTI configuration indicating at least one short transmitting time interval having between one or two and seven symbols of duration in a subframe. There are also disclosed related methods and devices.

Short TTI patterns

There is provided a method of operating a wireless device, UE, in a communication network. The method includes transmitting, to the communication network, a first capability indication that indicates that the UE supports a maximum number of MIMO layers for a serving cell configuration on a carrier and the second capability indication that indicates that the UE supports a maximum number of MIMO layers for a bandwidth part, BWP, of the serving cell. The method further includes receiving a configuration that includes a first higher layer parameter associated with the maximum number of MIMO layers for a serving cell and a second higher layer parameter associated with the maximum number of MIMO layers for a specific BWP part of the serving cell, wherein the configuration is based on the first capability indication and the second capability indication. Furthermore, there is provided a UE, a RAN node and a method therefore.

Capability handling related to per-BWP MIMO layer indication

A method, network node and wireless device for single downlink control information (DCI), multiple slot scheduling are disclosed. According to one aspect, a method includes receiving a downlink control information, (DCI) signal in a first slot, the DCI being configured to cause the WD to transmit uplink shared channel transmissions to the network node and/or receive downlink shared channel transmissions from the network node, the transmitting and/or receiving being according to a pattern in a plurality of slots. The method further includes transmitting the uplink shared channel transmissions to the network node and/or receive the downlink shared channel transmissions from the network node according to the pattern, the transmitting and/or receiving of the uplink and/or downlink shared channel transmissions in each slot being in a number of layers indicated by a rank provided by the DCI signal.

Enhanced single downlink control information multi-slot scheduling

A method and network node for configuring a WD, to perform uplink transmissions using an uplink configured grant, UL-CG, or a dynamic grant is provided. The network node signals by radio resource control, RRC, signaling to the WD, a time domain resource assignment, TDRA, table for the uplink transmissions. The network node signals further signals to the WD, an indication of a particular repetition factor to be used by the WD to determine when to perform the uplink transmissions.

Network node, wireless device and methods therein for performing uplink transmissions

In one aspect, there is a method performed by a wireless device, WD. The method includes the WD receiving a control message, the control message comprising an indication of an index value. The method further includes the WD obtaining, using the index value, a set of parameters from time domain resource allocation, TDRA, configuration information, the set of parameters comprising an aggregation factor.

Signalling for repetition

According to some embodiments, a network node is operable to separately schedule radio transmissions per sub-subframe (SSF). A method in the network node comprises mapping a first demodulation reference signal (DMRS) to first resource elements in a first SSF. The first resource elements are associated with a first set of antenna ports. The method includes mapping a second DMRS to second resource elements in a second SSF. The second resource elements are associated with the first set of one or more antenna ports and precoding of the second DMRS differs from a precoding of the first DMRS. The method further includes scheduling a radio transmission during the first SSF precoded in accordance with the first DMRS, and scheduling a radio transmission during the second SSF precoded in accordance with the second DMRS. In particular embodiments, a subframe may comprise two, four, or eight sub-subframes.

According to one aspect of the disclosure, a network node is provided. The network node is configured to configure each wireless device in a first group of wireless devices comprising at least one wireless device with a first radio network temporary identifier, RNTI, defined to address a group of wireless devices for physical downlink control channel, PDCCH, based wake-up signal, WUS, operation, and cause transmission of signaling including a wake-up signal, WUS, for a first WUS monitoring occasion associated with the first group of wireless devices, where the WUS is configured to cause each wireless device in the first group of wireless devices to perform at least one action.

Methods for physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) based wake up signal (WUS) configuration

The present disclosure provides a method performed by a network node in a radio access network (RAN) for selective paging of a plurality of user equipments (UEs) operating in a cell served by the network node. The method comprises assigning the plurality of UEs to a plurality of paging subgroups based on one or more operating parameters of the respective UEs, wherein the paging subgroups are associated with a first sequence of paging occasions (POs) to which all of the UEs are assigned. The method comprises transmitting a paging indicator during a particular PO of the first sequence. The paging indicator indicates which of the paging subgroups associated with the particular PO should receive a paging message from the network node. The method further comprises transmitting the paging message within the cell.

User equipment (UE) grouping criteria and mechanisms for false paging reduction

A technique of selectively transmitting a skip signal indicative of skipping a downlink control channel from an access node () to a radio device () is provided. As to a method aspect, a method () of selectively transmitting a skip signal indicative of skipping a downlink control channel comprises or initiates determining (), for the radio device (), whether a criterion for at least one of skipping the downlink control channel and transmitting the skip signal indicative of skipping the downlink control channel is fulfilled. A network node causes transmission of DCI that includes information for scheduling two or more TBs over two or more communication slots. The two or more TBs are associated with two or more HARQ process IDs. The information includes one or more of: a PUCCH resource indicator configured to indicate at least one resource for use for transmitting HARQ feedback related to the two or more TBs; a DAI configured to indicate a position of HARQ feedback related to the two or more TBs, in a HARQ codebook; a HARQ process ID indicator indicating two or more HARQ process IDs; and one or more NDIs configured to indicate whether at least one of the two or more TBs is a retransmission.

HARQ handling for single-DCI multi-slot scheduling

There is provided mechanisms for granting resources to a wireless device operating with a short Transmission Time Interval (sTTI). A method is performed by a network node. The method comprises transmitting, to the wireless device, a first control information message for a downlink channel. The method comprises transmitting, to the wireless device, a second control information message in a device-specific search space (USS), or in a common search space (CSS), based on a parameter of the first control information message.

Granting resources to a wireless device

A network node for configuring resources for a short Physical Downlink Control Channel, sPDCCH, is provided. The network node includes processing circuitry configured to determine time resources for the sPDCCH based on at least one characteristic associated with transmission, and configure a wireless device using the time resources for the sPDCCH.
