Techniques are provided for a maintaining and utilizing a file index and a file version index. Metadata may be evaluated to identify constant attributes and modifiable attributes of files. A file index of a file catalog may be populated with the constant attributes. A file version index of the file catalog may be populated with the modifiable attributes as file versions of the files. In response to receiving a request for a file, the file index and the file version index are evaluated to identify a location of the file within a data source. Access to the file at the location within the data source is provided.

File metadata service

Techniques are provided for microservices management and orchestration. A chart package is selectively retrieved from a chart repository based upon the chart package corresponding to a set of services to host within a cluster and dependencies amongst the set of services. A set of container images may be retrieved from a container repository based upon the set of container images corresponding to the set of services. A cluster may be created within a computing environment. The set of services may be deployed as resources of the computing environment within the cluster and the dependencies may be configured using the chart package and the set of container images.

Management and orchestration of microservices

Methods, non-transitory machine readable media, and computing devices that provide file backup catalogs with improved scalability are disclosed. With this technology, a sequence number is incremented and an entry for a snapshot associated with obtained metadata for the snapshot is generated. The snapshot entry comprises a snapshot identifier for the snapshot and the incremented sequence number. A current version flag is then set in another entry for a file associated with a create event identified in the metadata. The file entry includes a file identifier for the file, a create attribute comprising the incremented sequence number, and a delete attribute. The file and snapshot entries are then inserted into indice(s) in a catalog database. Based on the schema of the indice(s), this technology provides a lightweight, elegant, and highly scalable catalog that more efficiently facilitates full path global file search and restore functionality with reduced resource utilization.

Methods for scalable file backup catalogs and devices thereof

Exemplary embodiments relate to techniques that allow for file system support to be rapidly deployed for new or updated operating system distributions. In some embodiments, a management component is provided perform data management on file systems. When a data management operation on a file system is requested, an operation component searches in a predetermined location for a named module that implements certain types of operations. The operation component then calls these operations (including validate, build and deport operations for the file system) to implement data management procedures in the file system. Implementing support for a new operating system or file system does not require that the management entity be rebuilt. Upon release of a new operating system or file system, a new named module can be written and placed in the predetermined location where the operation module is configured to search.

Data management of UNIX file systems

Various embodiments are generally directed an apparatus and method for performing a discovery operation to determine a system layout for a database and one or more files for a dataset stored in the database and performing a backup operation on the dataset to cause storage of a backup copy of each of the one or more files and collect metadata associated with the backup copy of each of the one or more files, the metadata to enable restoration of the one or more files.
