Methods and devices for directing a waste fluid from a radiopharmaceutical synthesis system to a waste vessel are provided. In one example, the method includes serially connecting a primary waste vessel to a secondary waste vessel with a fluid conduit, including a waste valve connected to the fluid conduit extending between the primary waste vessel and secondary waste vessel; opening the waste valve so as to allow fluid communication between cavities of the primary and secondary waste vessels; drawing a low pressure in both waste vessels; closing the waste valve so as to fluidically isolate the secondary waste vessel from the primary waste vessel, discharging the waste fluid through a pump valve into the primary waste vessel, and opening the waste valve to evacuate the waste fluid from the primary waste vessel into the secondary waste vessel.

Methods and systems for emptying a waste vessel

The present invention relates to a method for improving stability of non fluoridated sugar derivatives, and in particular glucose derivatives such as 1,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-2-O-trifluoromethanesulfonyl-&#xdf;-D-mannopyranose which are used as precursors for production of radiofluoridated sugar derivatives for use in in vivo imaging procedures such as positron emission tomography (PET). The method comprises storing the non fluoridated sugar derivative in an organic solvent. The resultant formulations of the non fluoridated sugar derivative and cassettes for automated synthesis apparatus comprising the same are also claimed.

Stabilisation of radiopharmaceutical precursors

A method of radiostabilizing an oxime ligation or imine formation reaction using aniline is described.

Use of aniline in the radiostabilization of oxime ligation

A multi-vial dispensing cassette provides serial dispensement of radiopharmaceutical fluid into a plurality of dispense vials connected in series. Needle holders may be provided for one or more vials in the cassette and at clip may be incorporated into the needle holder. Each dispense vial has a body and a cap with a fill needle and a withdrawal needle. The withdrawal needle of one vial is connected to the fill needle of an adjacent vial.

Multi-vial dispensing

The invention describes a method for stripping alumina which is particularly suitable for removal of fluoride from alumina and comprises washing said alumina with an aqueous acid or alkali at elevated temperature. The method may be used for removal of unreacted radiofluoride such as [F]fluoride from alumina following a radiofluorination reaction. Automated synthesis apparatus and cassettes therefor, which are adapted to perform the method are also claimed.

Stripping method

The invention provides a method for the synthesis of an 18F-labelled product comprising deprotected of a protected 18F-labelled compound using a deprotection agent comprising a weak acid and wherein neutralisation and buffering of the deprotected product are carried out by the addition of a neutralisation agent. The deprotected product is buffered in a pH range suitable for subsequent autoclaving and formulation into an injectable radiopharmaceutical.
