An electronic device comprising a first housing () and a second housing (), the first and second housings arranged to provide a device open configuration (FIG.), a first device closed configuration (FIG.) and a second device closed configuration (FIG.), wherein in the device closed configurations a first face of the first housing and a first face of the second housing are arranged to overlie one another (), and in the open configuration the first face of the first and second housings are arranged to be spaced apart compared to the closed configurations to reveal the respective first faces ()/and wherein a first portion of the first face of the second housing is covered by the first face of the first housing in the first device closed configuration (FIG.), and the first portion of the first face of the second housing is revealed in the second device closed configuration (FIG.).

Electronic device

An electronic apparatus having a user interface for symbol input is disclosed. The apparatus has a display and an input device having an elongated touch-sensitive sensor area and capable of detecting user actuations of a plurality of sensor positions along a main axis of the elongated touch-sensitive sensor area. The apparatus also has a processing device coupled to the display and the input device. In response to a user actuation of a current sensor position among said plurality of sensor positions of the input device, the processing device determines, from the current sensor position, a current symbol position in a symbol sequence, and then controls the display to indicate a current symbol held by the current symbol position in the symbol sequence.
