An adhesive that comprises: (a) 35 to 55 wt. % of an elastomer component; (b) 20 to 45 wt. % of an adhesive resin component; and (c) 15 to 40 wt. % of a plasticizing component, wherein (c1) 8 to 35 wt. % of (c) is made of one or more plasticizing oils, and (c2) optionally up to 32 wt. % of (c) is made of one or more plasticizers that differ from plasticizing oils.

Adhesive tape and its use

Adhesive tape for the on-the-fly roll changeover of flat web material wound up into rolls, comprising a carrier layer having a first surface and a second surface, a first layer of adhesive on the side of the first surface over at least part of the area, and a second layer of adhesive on one or more areas of the second surface, wherein the adhesive tape has regions suitable for areal splitting, at least those areal regions of the second surface on which the second layer of adhesive is provided being surface coated, the forces of adhesion of the lower layer of adhesive to the surface coating being greater than the forces of adhesion of the surface coating to the carrier layer, and/or the forces of adhesion of the lower layer of adhesive to the surface coating being greater than the forces of cohesion within the surface coating.

Adhesive tape for flying splice

A splicing tape and a method of using such tape to equip a wound roll for flying splice. The tape includes a first and second carrier and two strips of laminating composition disposed between them, each strip joining the first carrier to the second carrier. The carriers have a first and a second layer of pressure-sensitive, laminating composition and a first and a second layer of pressure-sensitive adhesive. The strips of laminating composition are disposed such that they are not in direct contact with one another. They form a predetermined breakage point. The splicing tape is adhered to the roll such that part of the first layer of pressure-sensitive adhesive forms a first bonding area, the end region of the uppermost ply of the wound roll, and the second layer of pressure-sensitive adhesive forms a second bonding area to the roll, which is located partly below the first bonding area.

Splicing tape with adjacently disposed strips of laminating composition and method of using the splicing tape

An adhesive tape for flying splice of flat web material which has been wound to form rolls, the adhesive tape having at least one carrier layer and a layer of adhesive, at least part of that surface of the carrier layer that faces that layer of adhesive being optically detectable, or optically detectable means being provided between the carrier layer and the layer of adhesive, and the layer of adhesive being designed such that the optical detection can be made through the layer of adhesive. The adhesive tape is modified such that its gloss value, i.e. the ratio of directed fraction and diffusely reflected fraction of the light stream incident on the surface, on the external surface of the layer of adhesive is reduced by at least 20% relative to an unmodified adhesive tape of otherwise identical construction.
