The present invention relates to a thermally conductive polyurethane adhesive composition having excellent mechanical properties as well as improved performance after aging and a method of manufacturing the same. Further, the present invention relates to method of manufacturing an article comprising the thermally conductive polyurethane adhesive composition and articles obtainable by the described method.

Thermally conductive polyurethane adhesive composition

A binder system, containing a special polyol mixture as a resin component, said polyol mixture containing at least one polyester based on a fatty acid dimer, a fatty acid trimer or the alcohols derived therefrom, and at least one polyisocyanates as a resin component and/or a NCO-terminated polyurethane prepolymer. The binder system can be used as an adhesive/sealing material, in particular as an adhesive for gluing various substrates.

Polyurethane-based binder system

A two-component polyurethane adhesive comprising a polyol component, which contains 2 to 30 wt. % of at least one polyester diol having a molecular weight greater than 1000 g/mole, 5 to 35 wt. % of at least one 3 to 14 functional polyol, 5 to 35 wt. % hydrophobic polyols, 2 to 65 wt. % further additives or auxiliary agents, wherein the sum is to results as 100%, and a cross-linking component made of polyisocyanates in a NCO/OH ratio of 0.9:1 to 1.5:1, wherein the cross-linked adhesive has a Tg greater than 50%.
