Aspects herein are directed to a bra having a front portion formed with multiple layers of mesh to provide a supportive, modest bra that is breathable, lightweight, and quick drying. The front portion includes an interior support panel assembly having a first panel made of a mesh material and a second panel made of a spacer mesh material that is adjacent and external to the first panel. The front portion also includes an upper support panel made of a spacer mesh material and a lower support panel made of a mesh material that each are positioned adjacent and external to the interior support panel assembly. The upper support panel and the lower support panel are each defined by a top edge and a bottom edge, and at least a portion of the upper support panel bottom edge may be positioned superior to the lower support panel bottom edge.

Aspects herein are directed to a pad insert configured to be removably positioned within a pocket space formed in a breast covering portion of a support garment. The pad insert has a perimeter shape that includes one or more concave edges, and one or more linear edges. The pocket space of the breast covering portion has a perimeter shape that is substantially the same as the perimeter shape of the pad insert. Thus, when the pad insert is positioned within the pocket space the concave edges of the pad insert align with concave edges of the pocket space, and the linear edges of the pad insert align with linear edges of the pocket space. The result of the configuration described is that the pad insert is 'locked' into place within the pocket space which prevents the pad insert from shifting and/or rotating during wash and wear.

Aspects herein are directed to a bra system comprising a single-piece pad insert and a bra having a front portion with a pocket in communication with a pocket space formed between two textile layers used to form the front portion of the bra. The single-piece pad insert is used to provide shaping, modesty and support. When desired, a wearer can insert the pad insert into the bra by way of the pocket opening.

Aspects herein are directed to a support garment having a single strap adjustment mechanism. A first end of the strap is adjustably secured to an upper margin of a first breast contacting surface, and a second end of the strap is adjustably secured to an upper margin of a second breast contacting surface. An intervening portion of the strap is configured such that as the strap extends from its first end, it crosses diagonally downward to a first aperture located on a wing portion of the support garment through which it passes. It then crosses horizontally to pass through a second aperture located on another wing portion of the support garment. It then crosses diagonally upward where it terminates at its second end.
