An implantable battery device is disclosed, which comprises a battery, a first antenna, a second antenna, and a driving unit. The first antenna is configured to inductively supply energy from the battery to a first device and to transmit information received from a processing unit to the first device. The second antenna is provided for wireless communication with a second device. The driving unit is configured to operate the first antenna according to control signals received from the processing unit. The processing unit is configured to transmit control signals to the driving unit to control the inductive supply of energy to the first device, to receive information via the second antenna from the second device, and to transmit information received via the second antenna from the second device to the first device via the first antenna driven by the driving unit.

Implantable battery device for standard cochlear implant

According to an embodiment, an electrode array for a transmodiolar implant is disclosed. The implant includes a substrate, a conductive metal located at a plurality of discrete portions on the substrate; and a single layer of insulation material over the conductive metal and the substrate. The single layer of insulation material includes a plurality of apertures that expose the conductive metal, the exposed conductive metal forming a plurality of electrodes, wherein stiffness of the electrode array is adapted to allow insertion of the electrode array into a modiolus of a subject.

Transmodiolar electrode array and a manufacturing method

The application relates to a hearing assistance device comprising an implanted part and to a method of its operation. The disclosure aims at improving the identification and processing of recorded nerve response data in an implanted part. The implanted part comprises a) A multitude of electrodes; b) Stimulation circuitry electrically coupled to a stimulation electrode during a stimulation time period; c) Measurement circuitry electrically coupled to a recording electrode during a measurement time period; d) A control unit configured to control the timing of the application of the stimulation signal in the stimulation time period and to control the measurement time period relative to the stimulation time period; and e) A processing unit configured to record the measured signal in the measurement time period and to identify a response from the auditory nerve based on said measured signal. The invention may e.g. be used for cochlear implant type hearing aids.

Hearing assistance device comprising an implanted part for measuring and processing electrically evoked nerve responses

According to an embodiment, an electrode array for a transmodiolar implant is disclosed. The implant includes a substrate, a conductive metal located at a plurality of discrete portions on the substrate; and a single layer of insulation material over the conductive metal and the substrate. The single layer of insulation material includes a plurality of apertures that expose the conductive metal, the exposed conductive metal forming a plurality of electrodes, the electrode array having a Young's modulus of at least 100 GPa.

According to an embodiment, a receiver coil assembly for an implantable medical device is disclosed. The receiver coil assembly includes at least two spatially separated coil units comprised by a housing of an internal component. The spatial separation is along a thickness of the housing.
