A method performed by a first communication device operating in a wireless communications network. The first communication device obtains a first set of one or more values indicating an observed speed of a boat relative to a power of an engine of the boat. The speed and the first indication are obtained by from sensors in the boat. The first communication device then obtains a second indication of an external factor on the hull of the boat causing friction against water. The obtaining of the second indication is based at least on: the obtained first set, and a reference. The reference is based on one of: a) a threshold, and b) a mathematical model. The first communication device also initiates providing a third indication of the external factor to a device, based on the obtained second indication.

Devices and methods for indicating an external factor on the hull of a boat

Method performed by a first communication device () operating in a wireless communications network (). A coordination node can be configured to control communications between Visible Light Communication, VLC, Access Points, APs, and user equipments, UEs. The coordination node can: identify occurrence of an event relating to operation of a first VLC AP; determine that a second VLC AP and a third VLC AP each have communication coverage areas that are at least partially within a communication coverage area of the first VLC AP; control the second VLC AP to avoid it interfering with communications between the first VLC AP and a UE while it is within a common communication coverage area of the first VLC AP and the second VLC AP; and control the third VLC AP to avoid it interfering with communications between the first VLC AP and the UE while it is within a common communication coverage area of the first VLC AP and the second VLC AP.

Controlling communications between visible light communication access points and user equipments

In a communication system, a first network node is configured to execute at least one service application executing a first service and at least one analytics application executing at least part of a distributed analytics service. The first network node obtains information about a new telecommunication service and transmits, to a second network node in the communication system, a request for a policy for the new telecommunication service. The first network node receives, from the second network node, the policy for the new telecommunication service and updates a currently applied policy on the basis of the received policy. The updated policy rebalances resources allocated from a shared computing resource pool of the first network node between the new telecommunication service and the at least one analytics application such that the new telecommunication service maintains adherence to the one or more requirements of a service level agreement.

The content distribution node selects, from among content files available in a content repository, a set of video frames for distribution to the display devices based on the profile information. The content distribution node distributes different video frames among the set of video frames to different ones of the display devices with timing of the distribution that allows the video frames among the set to be displayed on respective ones of the display devices in the sequence before arrival of the vehicle within a field-of-view of at least one of the display devices.

Li-Fi communications for selecting content for distribution across a sequence of displays along a vehicle pathway

A method by a coordination node is provided for controlling communications between Li-Fi APs and UEs. The method includes receiving peer connectivity reports from Li-Fi APs which identify Li-Fi APs having at least partially overlapping coverage areas, and developing a handover pathway data structure, based on the peer connectivity reports, that identifies Li-Fi APs that can receive communication handover from other identified Li-Fi APs. The method further includes determining an identifier of a first Li-Fi AP providing Li-Fi communication service for a UE, and accessing the handover pathway data structure using the identifier of the first Li-Fi AP to determine an identifier of a second Li-Fi AP to which handover from the first Li-Fi AP can be performed. The method then initiates handover of the Li-Fi communication service for the UE from the first Li-Fi AP to the second Li-Fi AP.

It is disclosed a control node () capable of deciding in which computing nodes to execute a plurality of subqueries of a real-time continuous query, and a method therefore. The plurality of subqueries are executed () in two or more computing nodes and properties of at least one of: the one or more data centers comprising the computing nodes, execution of the plurality of subqueries, and the data streams, are monitored (). A subquery is selected, after which this is executed () in an alternative computing node. Properties are monitored () during this second execution, and if monitored properties from this execution indicate an improved performance, the subquery may be transferred () to said alternative computing node. It is an advantage that real-time queries may be optimized, by determining in which computing node to execute what subqueries of a query for best performance.

A network anomaly detector detects a network anomaly by monitoring a communication network and provides an indication of the detected network anomaly to a network anomaly analyzer. The network anomaly analyzer receives the indication of the detected network anomaly and, on the basis of data representing the detected network anomaly and additional data, e.g., from outside the communication network, performs classification of the detected network anomaly. Depending on the classification of the detected network anomaly, the network anomaly analyzer provides a report of the detected network anomaly to another node.
