In one aspect, the method includes acquiring a message, extracting descriptive data from the acquired message, and determining the identifier of the acquired message. If not, the method includes associating the acquired message with a new dialog. It is proposed, for better efficacity of the ATN aeronautical telecommunication network, that the requests for logons through the ATN network originating from non-ATC applications be subjected to a validation of the addresses requested by means of two availability tables kept up-to-date and placed in the terminal hosting the applications asking for logons. One of the tables relates to the availability of the local applications and serves to advise the remote terminals. The other table relates to the availability of the remote applications and serves for the validation of the logon requests emanating from the local applications.

Method for selecting applications that can be activated via a civil aeronautical communication network

A process for the automatic searching by an aircraft for a communication address of a ground entity of an ATN network. In the process, each address is coded according to a hierarchical binary tree structure including several fields. A first field identifies the network and the subsequent fields identify entities of the network. The process determines in the aircraft the address of the communication center to be contacted from the identity of an ground router which it receives, by comparing the received address of the router with those of the addresses contained in a database of the aircraft, and retaining as an address that which has the largest number of characters in common with the address of the ground router, given the tree structure of the addresses. Such a process may find particular application to ATN communications.
