A method of fabricating a metal cup includes a tool having an interior profile of a predetermined shape, the tool having a body forming an inner area; placing a metal sleeve within the inner area of the tool; securing the tool in a closed position such that the metal sleeve is unremovable; applying internal pressure within the inner area and within an inside of the sleeve such that the internal pressure exceeds a yield point of a material comprising the metal sleeve, the metal sleeve deforms into the interior profile; opening the body of the tool; and removing the metal sleeve from the tool in the open position; the metal sleeve maintains a deformed shape having an exterior profile that matches the interior profile of the tool.

Method and system for fabrication of a metal cup for creating an annular seal within a wellbore

A wellbore tool system for use within a wellbore includes a stage packer shoe, having a lower body extending from a first end to a second end; an upper body attached to the lower body at the second end; and circulation ports extending through a thickness of the upper body; a metal cup having a predetermined diameter as determined by a diameter of the wellbore; the metal cup secured around a periphery of the lower body of the stage packer shoe such that the metal cup extends away from the periphery; the metal cup is to engage with the wellbore enough to have differential pressure holding capability between the stage packer shoe and the wellbore; and the differential pressure of the metal cup is dependent on a strength of the cup and the wellbore with which the metal cup is engaged.

Centralized control of a cement head using a pumping unit control device is provided. The control device, located at the pumping unit, is communicably coupled to the cement head and pumping unit via a wired or wireless link. Using the control device, the pumping unit operator sends control signals to the pumping unit and cement head to control the cementing operation from outside the red zone, thereby removing the need for a rig hand to operate the cement head.

A system for tracking an object in oil and gas wellbore operations wherein a releasable object carrying a first signal system is released into tube system associated with a wellbore. The first signal system communicates with one or more second signal systems positioned along the travel path of the object; along the surface of the formation; and/or throughout the wellbore. First signal system and the second signal system may communicate by RF signals. First signal system and any second signal systems positioned on the surface communicate by through-the-earth or very low frequency signals. A global positioning system may be utilized in conjunction with any second signal systems on the surface to identify the absolute location of the object in the underground wellbore. The first signal system carried by the object may be a piezoelectric system disposed to transmit a signal when the object experiences a predetermined pressure.

Plug tracking through surface mounted equipment

A wellbore completion system includes a container for delivering plugs or other objects to a wellbore. The container includes a sleeve having a sealing surface at a first end and a geared interface at a second, opposing end. The sealing surface includes voids or apertures that align with or obstruct apertures in a diverter plate, depending on the position of the sleeve, to permit or obstruct annular flow around the sleeve, respectively. A ball valve is coupled to the second, opposing end of the sleeve, and has a valve-geared interface that engages the geared interface of the sleeve. A releasable object, such as a cement wiper plug, may be stored within the conduit of the sleeve. The geared interface relates movement of the ball valve to movement of the sleeve, resulting in simultaneous opening of the valve, closing of the annular flow path, and release of the releasable object.

A cement head system for wellbores and method for maintaining dynamic fluid flow therethrough, wherein a base station wirelessly drives a control sequence to (1) open cement slurry valves to actuate external visual valve indicators, (2) open upper and lower safety valves, to actuate external visual safety valve indicators, (3) open a lower release chamber to actuate an external chamber visual indicator and to release a plug that triggers an external flipper visual indicator, (4) reset the external flipper visual indicator, (5) open an upper release chamber to actuate an external chamber visual indicator and to release a plug that triggers the external flipper visual indicator; and (6) open and close a release mechanism for each of the upper and lower chamber while pumping a flush fluid through the cement head. Each valve, the release mechanisms and flipper have a controller controlled by the base station.

A well drop releasing device has a housing attachable to a well tubing. The device has a well drop carrier to carry a well drop. The well drop carrier is linearly movable to move the well drop from an exterior the well tubing into an interior the well tubing and release the well drop in the interior of the well tubing.

One exemplary cement head includes a first module comprising a first end, a first outer surface, and a plurality of first protrusions extending radially outward from the first outer surface, each of the plurality of first protrusions comprising a first profile in which (i) a first engagement surface faces axially away from the first end and (ii) a first support surface forms a first oblique angle relative to an axis; and a bridge configured to engage the plurality of first protrusions.

An exemplary riser displacement system includes a mandrel coupled to a work string, a seal containment canister arranged about at least a portion of the mandrel, and a seal assembly movable between an un-deployed configuration, where the seal assembly is arranged within the seal containment canister, and a deployed configuration, where the seal assembly is arranged outside of the seal containment canister, the seal assembly including a sleeve movably arranged about the mandrel and one or more sealing elements disposed at a distal end of the sleeve.
