In the hydrocracking process in accordance with the invention, which comprises a hydrocracking section, a high pressure hot separator and a fractionation section, upstream of the fractionation section, a stripper or reboiler column type separation column is added which treats at least a portion of the heavy effluent obtained from the high pressure hot separator. All or a portion of the bottom fraction from said column, which is rich in polynuclear aromatic compounds, is purged. At least a portion of the bottom fraction obtained from the fractionation section, which is constituted by unconverted products, is recycled to the reaction section.

The present invention relates to a process and a device for separating a feedstock comprising benzene, toluene and C8+ compounds, by means of at least one 'reformate' distillation column (C), one aromatics extraction unit (P), one para-xylene separation unit (P), one xylene isomerization unit (P) and one transalkylation unit (P), the effluents of said units being separated in the following distillation columns: purification column (C), deheptanizer (C) and toluene column (C), in which at least one of said distillation columns is suitable for being operated under vacuum so that: the majority of the C7&#x2212; compounds are recovered in the product at the top of the distillation column operated under vacuum, and the majority of the C8+ compounds are recovered in the product at the bottom of the distillation column operated under vacuum.
