A method and a device for purging an injector in a fuel injector system of use in regeneration of a particle filter. The aging of fuel is determined and compared with a fuel aging threshold value, and a purge request is activated if the threshold value is exceeded. On activating the purge request the satisfaction of the conditions of purge activation are verified and, if satisfied, the purge is activated. The purge is continued while the conditions are satisfied until the quantity of fuel purged reaches a quantity of fuel to be purged.

A method for controlling power supply of a pre-heat plug in an internal combustion engine to reach an ignition temperature for restarting the engine after the engine has stopped. The temperature of the pre-heat plug is determined using a first mathematical model and according to an elapsed engine-stop time, and additional energy to be supplied to the pre-heat plug for reaching the ignition temperature is determined using a second mathematical model and according to the temperature of the pre-heat plug.

The invention relates to a method for controlling a low-voltage-powered plug () for preheating a diesel engine () air/fuel mixture. The plug () is powered by pulses having a predetermined amplitude and duration, said amplitude being less than a maximum amplitude (PWM_MAX). The amplitude and duration of the voltage pulses powering the plug () are controlled as a function of first parameters including the duration of the preceding pulses and the duration between successive preceding pulses.
