A microwave device of the slot-line type with a photonic band gap structure, including at least: a first substrate in a dielectric material having a first permittivity &#x2208;r, a second substrate in a dielectric material having a second permittivity &#x2208;r, and between the two substrates, a conductive layer in which at least one slot-line is engraved, with, on the face of the first and second substrates opposite the face in contact with the conductive layer, facing the slot-line, periodic metal patterns. A compact filtering structure is realized.

Slot-line type microwave device with a photonic band gap structure

The present invention relates to an active photonic band gap antenna. In this case, the photonic band gap structure is constituted by metal rods, some of which are discontinuous, namely composed of sections of rods connected by a switching element such as a PIN diode. According to the invention, only one rod in a row of rods seen from the radiating source is discontinuous. The antenna pattern can be controlled at a low cost.

Active photonic forbidden band antennae

The present invention relates to a transmission/reception antenna with diversity of radiation comprising on a substrate at least a first and a second radiating elements connected by a network of feeder lines to a transmission/reception circuit of electromagnetic signals, wherein the network is constituted by a first feeder line connected to a first radiating element and by a set of two second feeder lines each connected by means of a switching element to the second radiating element in such a manner as to supply the two radiating elements in phase or in phase opposition, the set of the two second feeder lines being connected to the first feeder line by a third feeder line, the first and third feeder lines being connected by a feeder line common to the transmission/reception circuit of electromagnetic signals.

Transmitting/receiving antenna with radiation diversity

The present invention relates to photonic band gap antennas. This antenna comprises according to a plane of directions x, y, a radiating source and a photonic band gap structure constituted by parallel metal rods, the rods repeating themselves nx times in the direction x and ny times in the direction y. The height of the rods seen from the radiating source is increasing. The invention is able to control the radiation pattern of the antenna in the vertical plane.

Optimisation of forbidden photo band antennae

The present invention relates to a planar antenna carried by a substrate comprising a slot in the form of a closed curve dimensioned to operate at a given frequency, supplied by a feeder line intersecting the slot at a point known as an excitation point, characterized in that at least two short circuits in parallel on the slot are positioned with respect to the excitation point so as to match the impedance to the excitation point and/or the polarization of the antenna.

Planar antenna with matched impedance and/or polarization

The invention relates to a method of producing a photonic bandgap structure on a slot-type microwave device which is produced on a metallized substrate. According to the invention, periodically-spaced patterns are formed on the surface of the aforementioned substrate opposite the surface comprising the slot. The invention is suitable for slot-type antennas.
