Custom ad content and ad contact information are identified, for example, received from an advertiser. Input is received selecting to include at least a portion of the ad contact information as unified ad contact information within a print ad including the custom ad content. Further input is received selecting to activate one or more tracking mechanisms associated with the portion of ad contact information. The print ad including the custom ad content and the portion of ad contact information is provided to a publisher. An effectiveness of the ad contact information included in the portion is tracked. The effectiveness of the print ad is reported.

The present disclosure is directed to a system and method for generating ads using user assets. In some implementations, a method includes receiving one or more assets associated with advertising in at least one printed publication. One or more ads compatible with ad slots in the at least one publication are automatically generated based, at least in part, on the received assets.

In one aspect, a method includes receiving an electronic file comprising an advertisement; receiving one or more ad space parameters associated with a publication; comparing one or more attributes of the advertisement with the one or more ad space parameters; generating results based on the comparison of the one or more attributes of the advertisement with the one or more ad space parameters; determining whether to accept the advertisement for publication based on the generated results; and altering at least one of the one or more attributes of an unaccepted advertisement such that it conforms with a corresponding ad space parameter.

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for minimizing ad production costs for print advertisers. In one aspect, a method includes receiving parameters associated with one or more publications; receiving input defining one or more ads; grouping the one or more publications based on the received parameters to form a plurality of groups, wherein a quantity of groups in the plurality of groups is based on the received input; determining an optimal ad space size for each of the plurality of groups; and generating the one or more ads, wherein each ad is defined by the optimal ad space size of one or more of the plurality of groups.
