A biofuel includes a mixture of a gasoil generated from hydropyrolysis and hydroconversion of a solid biomass containing lignocellulose. The gasoil has a cetane index less than 46. The biofuel also includes a hydroprocessed ester fatty acid (HEFA) generated from hydrotreating a renewable resource having fats and oils. A cetane index of the biofuel is greater than 46.

Biofuel blends

A biofuel includes a mixture having a gasoil generated from hydropyrolysis and hydroconversion of a solid biomass containing lignocellulose and an isomerized hydroprocessed ester and fatty acid (HEFA) generated from hydrotreating a renewable resource having fats and oils. The gasoil has a cetane index less than 46 and at least 10 parts per million weight (ppmw) of a heteroatom and a cetane index of the biofuel is greater than 46.

Biofuel blends with improved oxidation stability and lubricity

A process for producing a base oil composition from a deasphalted oil (DAO) feed, where the DAO feed undergoes hydrotreating, hydrocracking, catalytically dewaxing, hydrofinishing, and fractionating to generate the base oil composition. The base oil composition includes a hazy-free at 0&#xb0; C. heavy base oil comprising (a) a kinetic viscosity ranging from 15 to 21 cSt at 100&#xb0; C., (b) a 5 viscosity index of at least 95, (c) a pour point of less than &#x2212;12&#xb0; C., (d) a cloud point of less than &#x2212;18&#xb0; C., and (e) a total aromatics content of 2 wt % or less, where the hazy-free at 0&#xb0; C. heavy base oil maintains a hazy-free appearance when stored undisturbed at 0&#xb0; C. during a test period.

The invention provides a process for preparing a hydrowax comprising the steps of: (a) providing a hydrocarbonaceous feedstock which contains more than 4% by weight of hydrocarbons boiling in the range of from 550 to 800&#xb0; C.; (b) hydrotreating the hydrocarbonaceous feedstock with a hydrotreating catalyst in the presence of a hydrogen-containing gas under hydrotreating conditions to obtain a hydrotreated product; (c) hydrocracking at least part of the hydrotreated product as obtained in step (b) with a hydrocracking catalyst in the presence of a hydrogen-containing gas under hydrocracking conditions to obtain a hydrocracked product, which hydrocracking catalyst contains a zeolitic component which is present in an amount of at least 14 wt %, based on the total weight of the hydrocracking catalyst, and wherein the volume ratio of the hydrotreating catalyst as used in step (b) and the hydrocracking catalyst is more than 1; and (d) recovering from the hydrocracked product as obtained in step (c) the hydrowax.

Process for preparing a hydrowax

A process for the hydroconversion of a hydrocarbon feedstock. The process includes contacting the hydrocarbon feedstock with a catalyst in a first hydrocracking section to obtain a first hydrocarbon effluent stream which is separated into a gaseous stream, a light liquid stream and a heavy liquid stream. These liquid streams are fractioned into a number of fractions of hydrocarbons including a fraction of hydrocarbons having a boiling point above 350&#xb0; C. This fraction of hydrocarbons is contacted with a catalyst in a second hydrocracking section to obtain a second hydrocarbon effluent stream that is separated to obtain a gaseous stream, a light liquid stream and a heavy liquid stream. These liquid streams are fractioned into a number of fractions of hydrocarbons including a heavy fraction of hydrocarbons having a boiling point above 350&#xb0; C. This fraction of hydrocarbons is split into a major stream and a minor stream with the major stream being recycled and the minor stream is recovered.

Multi-stage hydrocracking process for the hydroconversion of hydrocarbonaceous feedstocks

The present invention comprises a process for in situ fluorinating a catalyst by passing a gas containing hydrogen through a catalyst bed, injecting a gaseous organic fluorine compound into the gas and recycling the gas at such a low temperature and during such a long period that more than 50% of the fluorine compound is physically adsorbed on the catalyst, and then increasing the temperature of the bed so as to finish the in situ fluorination.
