Linear electromechanical actuator

A rotary mechanical transmission includes a containment structure, a first rotary element, connected or connectable to a drive unit to define a mechanical power input unit and rotatable about an axis of rotation, a fixed guide, a second rotary element rotatable about the axis of rotation and defining a power output unit and an intermediate roto-translational element, extending along the axis of rotation and including a first threaded portion, coupled to the first rotary element, and a second threaded portion, coupled to the fixed guide. The intermediate element is also coupled with the second rotary element by a linear guide parallel to the axis of rotation. The first threaded portion and the second threaded portion have different pitches and are at least partly separated along the axis of rotation. The intermediate element is defined by a hollow body and the second rotary element is inserted inside the intermediate element.

Rotary mechanical transmission

A rotary mechanical transmission, includes: a containment structure, a first rotary element, connected to a drive unit to define a mechanical power input unit and rotatable about an axis. The transmission also includes a fixed guide and a second rotary element, rotatable about said axis and defining a power output unit. A connecting element extends along the axis and couples to the first rotary element by a first threaded connection. The connecting element is also coupled with one of either the fixed guide and the second rotary element by a second threaded connection, and with the other of the fixed guide and the second rotary element by a linear guide parallel to the axis. The first threaded connection and second threaded connection have different pitches in such a way as to vary the angular speed between the connecting element and the first rotary element.

Rotary mechanical screw transmission

Described is a mechanical transmission (T) comprising a containment structure () housing a roto-translational element (), extending along an axis of rotation (X) and comprising a first and a second threaded portion (), a rotary element () connected or connectable to a drive unit to define a mechanical power input unit and equipped with a first thread () designed to engage rotatably with the first threaded portion () to the roto-translational element in such a way as to define a first threaded connection, a fixed guide () having a second thread () designed to engage with the second threaded portion () of the roto-translational element () in such a way as to define a second threaded connection, and a translating element (), translating along the axis (X) and defining a power output unit. The translating element () is connected to the roto-translational element () for translating at the same linear speed as the roto-translational element (). The roto-translational element () is thus simultaneously coupled to the rotary element () and to the fixed guide () respectively by means of the first and second threaded connections. These connections have different pitches in such a way as to vary the angular speed between the roto-translational element () and the rotary element ().

Linear mechanical screw transmission

An electromechanical linear actuator may include: a containment structure; first and second lead nuts; two electric motors operably connected to rotate the lead nuts; a shaft inserted in the lead nuts; and coupling means with an intermediate coupling stage configured to mechanically couple the lead nuts with the shaft. A method of assessing fault in an electromechanical linear actuator may include: actuating the electric motors to drive the lead nuts in a same direction of rotation or in opposite directions of rotation; during the actuating of the electric motors, checking whether or not the shaft translates relative to the containment structure; checking for mechanical failure of the intermediate coupling stage with either lead nut, to actuate the electric motors in the same direction of rotation; and checking for mechanical failure of the shaft with the intermediate coupling stage, to actuate the electric motors in the opposite directions of rotation.

Methods for assessing presence of electrical, electronic, and/or mechanical faults in electromechanical linear actuators

An electromechanical linear actuator may include: a containment structure; a pushing member designed to translate relative to the containment structure to at least partially come out of the containment structure during operation of the electromechanical linear actuator; a mechanical reduction apparatus in the containment structure and configured to rotate about an axis of rotation; motor means in the containment structure operably connected with the mechanical reduction apparatus to rotate about the axis of rotation; a shaft inserted in the mechanical reduction apparatus and connected to the pushing member, wherein the shaft is mechanically connected with the mechanical reduction apparatus so that a rotational movement of the mechanical reduction apparatus will cause the shaft to translate along the axis of rotation; and a rotation-preventing mechanism operable on the shaft to prevent the shaft from rotating about the axis of rotation.

Fault-tolerant electromechanical linear actuators

A linear electro-mechanical actuator () preferably for water cutting, makes it possible to significantly improve the working conditions of the actuator (), so as to optimize its load capacity and increase the working life of the actuator (), and makes it possible to reduce the risk of breakage or damage of the actuator () following loss of control of the movement aimed at producing the force applied by the actuator ().

Linear electro-mechanical actuator, preferably for water cutting

A linear electro-mechanical actuator includes a containment structure (), a nut () positioned in the containment structure (), a screw shaft () inserted in the nut () and interconnected with the nut () via a helical recirculating ball coupling, and an anti-rotation mechanism () positioned inside the screw shaft () to prevent the screw shaft () from rotating about the axis (X). The anti-rotation mechanism () includes a guide unit () fixed cantilever-style to the containment structure () and connected to the screw shaft by a non-rotational coupling.

Linear electro-mechanical actuator

A ball screw shaft, having a longitudinal cylindrical internal cavity, closed at its ends by inserted terminals or plugs, housing vibration controlling members in the form of a pair of plied cables fastened tensioned to the inserted terminals or plugs. One or more dissipater elements, having respective through holes for said pair of cables are provided positioned transversely free relative to an inner surface of said longitudinal cavity.
