The suspension includes a hydraulic actuator and a supply hydraulic circuit connected to the hydraulic actuator to supply a compression chamber and an extension chamber of the hydraulic actuator with a working fluid. The supply hydraulic circuit includes a hydraulic pump, a high-pressure line connected to a delivery port of the hydraulic pump, a low-pressure line connected to a suction port of the hydraulic pump, and a flow control valve connected on one side to the compression chamber and extension chamber of the hydraulic actuator and on the other side to the high-pressure line and low-pressure line. The flow control valve is a rotary spool valve having a spool which is rotatable continuously between a plurality of operating positions.

Active suspension for a vehicle

A vehicle is provided which has a vehicle body, at least one hub of a wheel, and a suspension connecting the hub to the vehicle body. The suspension has a suspension arm hinged to the vehicle body and to the hub, a spring, and an electromechanical rotary actuator operable between an active adjustment condition and a damping condition of the motion of the suspension, via a leverage.

A damper and spring unit includes a damper having a cylinder and a rod extending along a first axis (z), a spring plate arranged around the cylinder and slidable with respect to the cylinder along the first axis (z), a spring resting at its bottom on the spring plate, and an electro-mechanical adjustment device interposed between the cylinder and the spring plate for adjusting in a continuous and controlled manner the vertical position of the bottom end of the spring and the height of the vehicle from the ground. The adjustment device includes an electric motor generating a rotary motion and a motion conversion mechanism having one screw extending along a second axis (z') parallel to the first axis (z), but spaced therefrom, and driven into rotation by the electric motor about the second axis (z&#x2032;), and a nut meshing with the screw and drivingly connected for translation with the spring plate.

Damper and spring unit for a vehicle suspension provided with an electro-mechanical adjustment device for adjusting the vertical position of the spring

A suspension including a spring interposed between the body (B) of the vehicle and the wheel (W); a regenerative hydraulic shock-absorbing unit comprising a hydraulic shock-absorber arranged parallel to the spring, a motor and pump unit with a volumetric hydraulic machine and an electric machine coupled to the hydraulic machine), and an electronic control unit arranged to control the torque of the electric machine. A hydraulic actuator is arranged in series with the spring. A reservoir and a hydraulic circuit are connected to each other, the hydraulic shock-absorber, the hydraulic machine the hydraulic actuator and the reservoir. A pulley assembly comprising a hub with an axis and adapted to be rigidly connected to a rotating shaft of an engine assembly, a turning annular pulley of ferromagnetic material supported at least indirectly on the hub, a ring of electrically conducting material rotationally connected to the hub, and at least a pair of magnets rigidly connected to the pulley and facing the ring. The pulley defines a cavity accomodating accommodating said ring.

A suspension system for a wheeled vehicle is provided, the suspension system being adapted to support at least one wheel of the vehicle and comprising at least one shock absorbing device adapted to be activated as a result of the motion of the at least one wheel in a substantially vertical direction, the suspension system further comprising electrical power generating means in fluid connection with the at least one shock absorbing device so that the activation of said at least one shock absorbing device results in electrical power being generated. Furthermore, the suspension system comprises means for absorbing at least partially the electrical power generated, the absorption of electrical power resulting in the stiffness of said at least one shock absorbing device being varied as a function of the electrical power absorbed.
