Tiled displays having display tiles, are described as well as methods of making and/or operating tiled displays and tiles. Methods and devices are described for a tiled display having tiles lying in an X-Y plane, the methods and devices being for setting or adjusting the position of neighbouring tiles in a tiled display to reduce differences in the Z direction between tiles of a tiled display, whereby the tiles lie in the X-Y plane.

Alignment for tiles of tiled displays

A stability device comprising a carrier having a first socket and a second socket; a first circuit board inserted into the first socket; a second circuit board inserted into the second socket, wherein an inside surface of the second circuit board is facing an inside surface of the first circuit board; a center structure positioned between the inside surface of the first circuit board and the inside surface of the second circuit board, wherein the center structure is fixed to the carrier via a stability bar fixed to the carrier; a spring loaded outer structure at least partially surrounding an outside surface of the first circuit board and an outside surface of the second circuit board and to fix the center structure between the inside surface of the first circuit board and the inside surface of the second circuit board, wherein the center structure and outer structure dissipate heat.

Stability appliance for securing circuit boards in harsh environments

A frame for a display tile made of a first material with a first coefficient of thermal expansion and fastened to a first substrate made of a second material with a second coefficient of thermal expansion. The frame is divided into three parts: a first part to be glued by the adhesive to a lateral side of the substrate, a third part to serve as fastening interface to another structure and a second part to isolate the third part from strain in the first part. Grooves are formed in the second part, the grooves being substantially straight and substantially parallel to the first substrate, the frame having at least one opening made in one of the grooves etched in the metal frame to locally adjust the bending stiffness of the metal frame.

Display tile with increased display area

A display tile having a frame whose compliance is increased in a well determined region to accommodate the different thermal expansions of the frame and one or more substrates to which the frame is fastened. The display tile has also regions of increased compliance that will deform to allow different parts of the frame to be brought into contact and glued to the lateral sides of two superimposed substrates when at least one lateral side of one of the substrates is not coplanar with the corresponding lateral side of the other substrate.

An actuating element for controlling an electronic device is providing. The actuating element including a front cover having an actuating surface to be actuated by a user and a support structure adapted to be coupled to the front cover. The support structure having guiding rips that guide the movement of the actuating element in a housing upon actuation of the actuating element. The front cover having centering shoulders that contact the guiding rips for positioning the support structure relative to the front cover when the front cover is coupled to the support structure.

Actuating element

An electrical cable includes a first electrical conductor longitudinally surrounded by a first insulator, and a second electrical conductor that is substantially parallel to the first electrical conductor. The second electrical conductor is substantially longitudinally surrounded by a second insulator, and the second insulator includes a recess to partially expose the second electrical conductor. A metal layer longitudinally surrounds the first and second insulators. In another embodiment, an electrical cable includes a first electrical conductor and a second electrical conductor parallel to the first electrical conductor. An insulator longitudinally individually surrounds each of the first and second electrical conductors, and the insulator includes a radial recess through which the first electrical conductor is accessible. A metal layer longitudinally encapsulates the insulator and fills the recess such that the metal layer contacts the first electrical conductor through the recess.
