A wireless temperature sensor network includes a base station unit which transmits query signals cyclically addressing a plurality of temperature sensor transponder units. The transponder units are passive and derive operating power from the query signal to encode measured temperature data into a reply signal which is received by the base station. In a dual carrier embodiment, the query signal and reply signals are transmitted on separate frequencies. In a backscattering embodiment, the antennas of the transponder units can be switched between an absorption mode in which the query signal is received and a reflection mode in which the query signal is reflected back to the base station. The transponder antennas are switched in such a manner as to encode temperature data in the reflected signal to form a reply signal. The network embodiments are particularly applicable to space based platforms.

Wireless temperature sensor network

A circuit for electric fuses includes circuits for sensing status and programming that have separate paths for each operation. The circuit includes a plurality of electrically programmable fuses and, associated with each fuse, a switch for coupling a first terminal of the fuse to a ground supply for programming or to a comparator for sensing. The circuit uses a switched current source to supply current to the fuses for programming. The comparator senses a fuse status when a current source is switched through the fuse. The comparator compares a voltage across the fuse and associated switches to a comparison voltage across a comparison resistor and switches included for matching.

Programmable efuse and sense circuit

An active clamp circuit for electronic components includes two sets of diode connected transistors that are inversely connected in parallel across an output of the component for providing both positive and negative differential conducting paths. The diode connected transistors cooperatively operate to limit a differential output voltage between the positive and negative conducting paths. An emitter follower buffer includes the clamp circuit and is configured to limit RF energy incident to an analog to digital converter (ADC). The emitter follower buffer includes two input transistors having their emitters each connected to at least one diode connected transistor connected to the clamp circuit. A receiver includes the differential amplifier and an analog to digital converter. A method for limiting the energy of analog signals in the receiver includes the step of operating the clamp circuit to limit the analog signals transmitted to the analog to digital converter (ADC).
