Component-level, scene-based power management in a test, monitoring, or measurement instrument or system is provided by identifying one or more controllable components; determining a power consumption of the identified one or more controllable components; generating a system model based, at least in part, on the determined power consumption, where the system model includes one or more scenes, each scene defining a list of controllable components and respective power states for the list of controllable components; generating a scene table for the test instrument by selecting a plurality of scenes from the system model; and executing the selected scenes in the scene table at a runtime for the test instrument, where each scene is executed based on an operation mode of the test instrument.

Component-level instrument power management

A test device for performing a bling scan includes a digital blind scan circuit. The blind scan circuit includes digital detectors for multiple cellular technologies that simultaneously perform correlation in a baseband frequency range to detect whether received RF signals include a channel of the technologies. The test device launches, responsive to detecting a channel from the blind scan, a signal analysis or a spectrum analysis application for the channel according to a carrier frequency and a technology identified for the channel by the blind scan.

Blind scan for multi-carriers and multi-technologies and seamless signal analysis

A test device for testing a power of a signal at a cell site using RFoCPRI&#x2122; is disclosed. The test device may comprise a receiver to receive a signal from a test point near a baseband unit (BBU) of a cell site. The test device may also comprise a processor to determine power of the signal. The processor may identify IQ data from the signal, determine an offset based on a noise floor determined from at least one specification of a remote radio head (RRH) of the cell site, and generate a power spectrum based on the IQ data and the offset. The processor may transmit the power spectrum to an output (e.g., display), to where the power spectrum may be representative of the power of the signal between the RRH and antennas of the cell site.

A test device for testing a power of a signal at a cell site using RFoCPRI&#x2122; is disclosed. The test device may comprise a receiver to receive a signal from a test point near a baseband unit (BBU) of a cell site. The test device may also comprise a processor to determine power of the signal. The processor may identify IQ data from the signal, determine an offset based on a noise floor determined from at least one specification of a remote radio head (RRH) of the cell site, and generate a power spectrum based on the IQ data and the offset. The processor may transmit the power spectrum to an output (e.g., display), where the power spectrum may be representative of the power of the signal between the RRH and antennas of the cell site.
