A system described herein may generate one or more models based on relationship data associated with multiple objects. The models may include one or more thresholds (e.g., which may indicate potential collisions between objects). The system may compare relationship data, associated with a particular vehicle and a particular object, with the one or more thresholds associated with the one or more models, and determine whether the relationship data associated with the particular vehicle and the particular object is rare data with respect to the one or more models. When the relationship data associated with the particular vehicle and the particular object is not rare data, the system may refraining from causing the particular vehicle to perform a collision prevention measure, and when the relationship data associated with the particular vehicle and the particular object is rare data, the system may cause the particular vehicle to perform the collision prevention measure.

Systems and methods for vehicular collision detection based on multi-dimensional collision models

A device can receive parking metadata that includes location data indicating that a portion of a vehicle is located outside of a designated parking area (DPA). The device can process the parking metadata to identify values that are to be used when determining actions to perform. The device can obtain supplemental events data associated with events occurring near the DPA. The device can determine the actions to perform based on the parking metadata and the supplemental events data. The device can provide, as one of the actions and to one or more other devices or to the vehicle, a message indicating that the portion of the vehicle is located outside of the DPA. This can cause the one or more other devices or the vehicle to: move the vehicle from the DPA, reposition the vehicle within the DPA, or penalize an owner of the vehicle.

A system may provision a smart device to allow the smart device to communicate using a network and use at least one service of a management platform. A device identifier of the smart device may be stored in a data store accessible to the management platform. The smart device may send a message to the management platform that includes the device identifier, and in some implementations other information such as location information. The management platform may determine that the smart device has been provisioned, for example based on the device identifier or other information, and provide a service to the smart device from the management platform.

A server device can periodically obtain information concerning illuminance of ambient light from light sensors associated with light sources, and can obtain respective brightness level values associated with respective brightness levels of the light sources. The server device can calculate an illuminance value associated with the illuminance of the ambient light based on the information, determine an adjusted brightness level value for the light sources based on the illuminance value, and determine transition times and transition rates based on the respective brightness level values and the adjusted brightness level value. The server device can cause the respective brightness levels to change according to the adjusted brightness level value, the transition times, and the transition rates, where the transition times and the transition rates are to be used to transition the respective brightness levels of the light sources from the respective brightness level values to the adjusted brightness level value.

Methods and apparatuses enable a network of traffic control devices to be viewed as a network of services. A web client sends a query compatible with an open API to a traffic control device. The traffic control device responds to the request by providing the requested service, and indicating an additional, related service that is available externally to the responding traffic control device. Thus, the traffic control device provides network information to the web client, which is traditionally only available via a network management system. The web client can then access the external service.

A method is provided for a network location service in which one or more packet forwarding devices in the network collect and maintain location data for the devices/users currently connected to a network. The location data is provided in real-time or near real-time using an in-band channel communication and/or over the Internet using a standard transport protocol, such as HTTP/S and SOAP web services.

A method is provided for a port management system in which a switch is automatically provisioned with network resources. A command or set of commands are stored and automatically executed on the switch upon the occurrence of a defined network event. The command or set of commands may be associated with one or more ports on the switch. When executed, the commands cause a change to a port configuration and/or policy on the switch to control access to a network resource. The network resource may include any device or service accessible on the network. The defined network event may include any network event associated with a device or user connected to the network. The command or set of commands may reference variables, control structures, and functions to modify command execution.

A method and system for integrating network policy enforcement into an existing network infrastructure comprises a communications bus that links expert policy devices, such as intrusion prevention devices, with one or more connection points. The connection points are network devices that are equipped with enforcement logic for receiving reports of events via a published interface on the communications bus about the existing network infrastructure from either the policy devices or the connection points themselves, and enforcing policy at the connection points by generating an action in response to the reported events, including actions to block traffic, remediate devices, limit bandwidth, and the like, until the reported event has been addressed in a manner that ensures the security of the existing network infrastructure.

A self-configuring network comprises network devices that are automatically provisioned with appropriate network resources upon the occurrence of a network event. A profile containing one or more commands to provision a network device with appropriate network resources is deployed to selected connecting devices. The selected connecting devices are targeted for deployment based on the network device and/or port groups to which they belong as determined from a network management system. The profile is bound to the selected connecting devices and affected ports as well as the network events that will trigger execution of the profile on the devices where they are deployed. A graphical user interface and profile information database may be used to facilitate managing the profiles, targeted devices/ports and associated network events.
