The present disclosure relates to user interfaces for manipulating user interface objects. A device, including a display and a rotatable input mechanism, is described in relation to manipulating user interface objects. In some examples, the manipulation of the object is a scroll, zoom, or rotate of the object. In other examples, objects are selected in accordance with simulated magnetic properties.

User interface for manipulating user interface objects with magnetic properties

In some embodiments, a device displays functionality information in response to receiving an indication of a first input for which a contact meets functionality display criteria. In some embodiments, a device generates a user interface that includes a navigation bar including images from different positions in a respective content item, and a representation of an adjacent content item. In some embodiments, a device moves a selection-indicator in a user interface by a predefined amount in response to receiving an indication of a first input that meets unitary movement criteria. In some embodiments, a device interprets movement of a contact of an input based at least in part on a grip of a user. In some embodiments, a device displays a plurality of character selection options when a text entry field is not tolerant of character ambiguity and a first input corresponds to a plurality of candidate characters.

Input device and user interface interactions

An electronic device with a display and touch-sensitive surface displays a plurality of user interface objects. The device enables multiple objects to be selected by a user, in succession, with a single gesture that remains in contact with the touch-sensitive surface, moving from object to object of the plurality of user interface objects, with separate press inputs for selecting each additional object while maintaining selection of objects previously selected using the same gesture.

Device, method, and graphical user interface for selecting user interface objects

User interface navigation on a personal electronics device based on movements of a crown is disclosed. The device can select an appropriate level of information arranged along a z-axis for display based on crown movement. The navigation can be based on an angular velocity of the crown.

User interface for manipulating user interface objects

The present disclosure relates to manipulating a user interface on a wearable electronic device using a mechanical crown. In some examples, the user interface can be scrolled or scaled in response to a rotation of the crown. The direction of the scrolling or scaling and the amount of scrolling or scaling can depend on the direction and amount of rotation of the crown, respectively. In some examples, the amount of scrolling or scaling can be proportional to the change in rotation angle of the crown. In other examples, a speed of scrolling or a speed of scaling can depend on a speed of angular rotation of the crown. In these examples, a greater speed of rotation can cause a greater speed of scrolling or scaling to be performed on the displayed view.

Crown input for a wearable electronic device

An electronic device, while displaying a user interface with a favored navigation axis, detects first movement of a contact on a touch-sensitive surface that includes a first component along the favored navigation axis and a second component in a direction different from the favored navigation axis. In response, if first movement meets direction-lock termination criteria, the device moves one or more user interface objects in two dimensions in accordance with both components of the first movement; and if first movement does not meet the direction-lock termination criteria, the device moves user interface objects in one dimension along the favored navigation axis in accordance with the first component of the first movement. After meeting the direction-lock termination criteria, in response to continued second movement of the contact, the device moves user interface objects in accordance with the second movement without regard to whether the second movement meets the direction-lock termination criteria.

Device, method, and graphical user interface for moving user interface objects

Systems and processes for manipulating a graphical user interface are disclosed. One process can include receiving user input through a crown to rotate a virtual object. The process includes selecting a surface of the object from among the multiple surfaces of the object in response to determining that the crown rotation exceeded a speed threshold.

User interface object manipulations in a user interface

An electronic device concurrently displays, on a display, a content region and a text input field that includes text entered by a user. While concurrently displaying the content region and the text input field that includes text entered by the user, the electronic device detects a user input to scroll content displayed in the content region. In response to detecting the user input to scroll the content displayed in the content region, the electronic device scrolls the content displayed in the content region and ceases to display the text input field while maintaining display of the text entered by the user.

In an exemplary method performed at an electronic device with a touch-sensitive display. The method includes concurrently displaying a first application and a second application on the touch-sensitive display. The method also includes detecting a first contact at a border between the concurrently displayed first and second applications. Immediately following detecting the first contact: detecting a gesture from a location of the first contact towards an edge of the touch-sensitive display. Upon detecting the gesture: selecting a fixed display area from a plurality of predefined fixed display areas for the second application; automatically resizing the second application to the selected fixed display area; and automatically resizing the first application to occupy substantially all of a remaining area of the touch-sensitive display.

Systems and methods for resizing applications in a multitasking view on an electronic device with a touch-sensitive display

An electronic device displays a plurality of icons in a predefined area on the display, and detects a gesture that includes a contact on a touch-sensitive surface while a focus selector is over a respective icon, and subsequent movement of the contact across the touch-sensitive surface that corresponds to movement of the focus selector outside of the predefined area. In response to detecting the gesture, if the contact had a maximum intensity during the gesture that was below a respective intensity threshold, the device retains the respective icon in the predefined area after the gesture has ended. But if the contact reached an intensity during the gesture that was above the respective intensity threshold, the device moves the respective icon in accordance with the movement of the contact during the gesture and removes the respective icon from the predefined area after the gesture has ended.
