A vehicle seat hinge assembly includes a first pivoting member that defines a first axis and is coupled to a first bracket disposed on a vehicle floor. The hinge assembly also includes a second pivoting member that defines a second axis and is disposed on a seat. The first pivoting member is pivotable about the first axis between at least first and second positions. The second pivoting member is pivotable about the second axis between at least fixed and released positions.

A hinge assembly for a folding vehicle seat includes upper and lower arms pivotally coupled to one another between open and closed positions. The lower arm is fixedly coupled to a support surface, such as a vehicle body, and the upper arm is fixedly coupled to a lower surface of a seat pan. A retaining bar is disposed on the lower arm and outwardly extends therefrom. An outwardly opening clip member is disposed on the upper arm. The clip member releasably receives the retaining bar of the lower arm when the upper and lower arms are in the closed position to retain the vehicle seat in a folded down use position.

A seatback is coupled to the support surface and includes an outwardly extending bracket with an upwardly extending engagement feature disposed thereon. An engagement member having a frame portion disposed on a lower surface of the seat pan and first and second sidewalls upwardly extending through the mounting aperture, the sidewalls including opposed inwardly extending tabs for receiving the engagement feature therebetween when the seat pan is in a use position.

A locking assembly for a vehicle armrest includes a pivoting catch member disposed below an armrest body and a catch wire disposed on a seat back frame member. A retractable stop pin maintains engagement of the pivoting catch member and the catch wire. A release is operatively connected to the retractable stop pin, which may be urged into engagement with the pivoting catch member by a spring. Armrest and seat assemblies including the locking assembly are provided.

A seating assembly for a motor vehicle comprises a flip up lower seat cushion having a design seating position and a structural member having a forward edge pivotally coupled with a floor and a rearward edge disposed proximate a seat frame. A cushion stop assembly is disposed on the structural member and disposed proximate the rearward edge of the structural member. The cushion stop assembly has a catch and an actuator. An inertia hook is pivotally mounted to the seat frame comprising a hook member and a hook stop, the inertia hook further having a first hook position when the actuator acts upon the hook stop to rotate the hook member into vertical alignment with the catch and a second hook position when the actuator is lifted away from the hook stop and the hook member rotates out of vertical alignment with the catch.

A locking assembly for a vehicle armrest includes a pivoting stopping member disposed below an armrest body and a catch wire disposed on a seat back frame member. A retractable stop pin maintains engagement of the pivoting stopping member and the catch wire. A release is operatively connected to the retractable stop pin, which may be urged into engagement with the pivoting stopping member by a spring. Armrest and seat assemblies including the locking assembly are provided.

An inertial lock assembly for a vehicle armrest includes a stopping member disposed on an armrest attachment bracket and a catch pin for engaging the stopping member. The catch pin is disposed on an armrest link journaled at one end to the attachment bracket and at an opposed end to an armrest frame. The stopping member pivots to engage the catch pin. A guide pin disposed on the armrest attachment bracket is configured to slide within an arcuate guide slot in the stopping member, to restrict a range of pivoting movement of the stopping member. A stop disposed on the armrest link is configured to bias an end of the arcuate guide slot against the guide pin when the armrest attachment bracket and armrest link are in a stowed configuration or in a fully deployed configuration. Armrest and seat assemblies including the inertial lock assembly are described.
