A system for aligning components of a prosthetic includes a mounting plate, a fastener and an adapter coupling plate. The mounting plate comprises: a first major surface; a second major surface opposing the first major surface; an adapter accommodation hole extending through the mounting plate; and sizing indicia located on the second major surface. The fastener extends from the mounting plate. The adapter coupling plate comprises: a third major surface; a fourth major surface opposing the third major surface; an adapter coupling hole extending through the adapter coupling plate and surrounded by the adapter accommodation hole; and an indicator located on the fourth major surface to point to the sizing indicia on the mounting plate. The adapter coupling plate can be slidable along a slot surrounding the fastener or a tongue and groove system connecting the adapter coupling plate and the mounting plate and locked via the fastener.

Methods and apparatuses for trialing a humeral head

Various parallax-free indicator devices, systems, and methods are disclosed. The indicator device may have a housing defining an aperture and a light source assembly at least partially disposed in the housing. The housing may be selectively securable via a fastener to an instrument in a selected orientation relative to the instrument. The light source assembly may have a light source operably coupled to a power source via a power circuit. The light source may be positioned within the housing to emit through the housing aperture. Upon activation, the light source assembly emits a parallax-free alignment indicator along an alignment axis that may have at least one of a selected angle and a selected displacement relative to a selected reference axis. The alignment indicator may guide a surgical procedure.

An offset guide can include a body, an arcuate portion, a first fin, and a second fin. The body can have a first surface. The arcuate portion can extend from the body and have a second surface. The first surface and the second surface can define an opening. The first fin can extend from the first surface into the opening. The second fin can extend from the first surface into the opening. A portion of the first surface can be located between the first fin and the second fin and arranged at an angle relative to a longitudinal axis of the offset guide.

A glenoid trial and implant assembly for use in reverse total shoulder arthroplasty is provided along with a method for using the same. The glenoid trial and implant assembly includes a baseplate assembly, an adapter assembly, a glenoid trial, a glenoid implant, a humeral cup, and a positioning guide. The glenoid trial is coupled to the adapter assembly when the glenoid trial and implant assembly is assembled in a trialing configuration. The glenoid implant is coupled to the adapter assembly when the glenoid trial and implant assembly is assembled in an installed configuration. A temporary connection, which may be magnetic, releasably couples the glenoid trial to the adapter assembly and provides separation of the glenoid trial and the adapter assembly without requiring disassembly of the adapter assembly. A permanent connection fixes the glenoid implant to the adapter assembly.

An orthopedic instrument for securing a bone includes a base plate, a cutting block removably coupled with an end of said base plate, and a V-shaped vice member slidingly coupled with the base plate and movable toward and away from the cutting block. The cutting block has a plurality of cutting slots, each of which has a predefined configuration. Further, the vice member is configured for centering the bone and applying a force against the bone toward the cutting block.

A humeral trial and implant assembly for use in total shoulder arthroplasty is provided along with a method for using the same. The humeral trial and implant assembly includes a humeral fixation component, an adapter assembly, a humeral trial, a humeral implant, and a positioning guide. The humeral trial is coupled to the adapter assembly when the humeral trial and implant assembly is assembled in a trialing configuration. The humeral implant is coupled to the adapter assembly when the humeral trial and implant assembly is assembled in an installed configuration. A temporary connection releasably couples the humeral trial to the adapter assembly and provides separation of the humeral trial and the adapter assembly without requiring disassembly of the adapter assembly. A permanent connection fixedly couples the humeral implant to the adapter assembly. The temporary connection may be a magnetic connection.
