An air duct assembly for a vehicle air distribution system includes a first duct defining a first passage and a second duct defining a second passage separate from the first passage. The first and second passages are fluidly connected to a common outlet for flowing air to a windshield of the vehicle. The assembly further includes a third duct defining a third passage for flowing air to a side glass of the vehicle. The second and third passages are fluidly connected to a common inlet for receiving air from the blower motor. The third passage is fluidly connected to a lateral outlet that is separate from the common outlet, with the lateral outlet flowing air to a side glass of the vehicle. The assembly further includes at least one acoustic baffle disposed within the second passage and configured to reduce a transmission of the blower noise through the second passage.

An HVAC system for a motor vehicle includes a filter that absorbs odors and gases in a cabin of the motor vehicle and desorbs the odors and gases when heated, and a heater that is turned on to heat the filter during cool ambient conditions. The heater is turned off during warm ambient conditions and warm ambient air is utilized to heat the filter. The desorbed odors and gases are purged from the cabin of the motor vehicle.

The provided system and method determines whether an auxiliary seat is in fluid communication with the climate control system. A method for controlling a thermal comfort control system for ride share vehicles includes providing a plurality of occupant seats in a vehicle cabin and controlling a cabin set temperature using a cabin comfort control system configured to adjust a plurality of HVAC functions. At least one thermal comfort parameter is adjusted at a number of the plurality of occupant seats using at least one seat comfort control system. Adjusting the at least one thermal comfort parameter causes the cabin control module to adjust the set temperature of the vehicle cabin.

Method for controlling a thermal comfort control system for ride share vehicles

The present teachings provide for a vehicle heating, ventilation, and air conditioning ('HVAC') assembly including a drive member, a driven member, a connecting member, a guide member, a first door, and a second door. The connecting member can be rotatably coupled to the drive member and the driven member and can be configured to be moved by the drive member to rotate the driven member. The guide member can be in cooperation with the connecting member and configured to restrict movement of the connecting member as the connecting member is moved by the drive member. The first door can be configured to be rotated by the drive member between a first position and a second position. The second door can be configured to be rotated by the driven member between a third position and a fourth position.

The present teachings provide for an HVAC assembly. A first flue can be configured to fluidly couple a first heat exchanger to a mixing flue. A second flue can be configured to fluidly couple a second heat exchanger to the mixing flue. A door can inhibit fluid communication through the second flue when in a first position. The door can inhibit fluid communication through the first flue when in a second position. The door can permit fluid communication through the first and second flues when in a third position. The third flue can be configured to fluidly couple the first heat exchanger to a portion of the second flue downstream of the second heat exchanger and upstream of the mixing flue when the door is in the third position.

Disclosed is a vehicle HVAC system that provides for installation, serviceability, or replacement of at least one actuator servo without removal of the HVAC assembly from the vehicle. As due to the tight space limitations, the present invention provides for at least one fastener-less mounting element of the servo assembly to be attached to the HVAC assembly, without the need for additional fasteners which would require additional space to access with a tool.

An evaporator and a heater may be accommodated in a case. A tunnel in a tubular shape forms a tunnel passage. The case may form an evaporator passage and a heater passage. The evaporator passage may be located on a downstream side of the evaporator and extended without passing through the heater. The heater passage may be located on a downstream side of the heater. The tunnel may extend from the heater passage through the evaporator passage toward an inner wall of the case.

A fresh air and recirculation air switching case using a rotary door, since an introduced air flows along an inner surface of a circumferential wall of the rotary door, a convex grid is formed on an inner surface of the circumferential wall of the rotary door. In this system, the air flow directed toward a suction inlet is prevented from becoming turbulent behind the rotary door and the air flow noise can be suppressed.

A heat exchanger includes multiple tubes, multiple fins, and a partition wall. The multiple fins are stacked alternately with the tubes to form a core including a first section and a second section. The partition wall partitions between the first section and the second section. The first section has multiple drain passages in the vicinity of the partition wall.

A housing for a vehicle HVAC system includes a case and a drainage port that drains fluid from the case of the housing. The drainage port includes a spout and defines a first fluid passage and a second fluid passage. An outlet of the first fluid passage and an outlet of the second fluid passage may be adjacent to each other at the spout. The first fluid passage fluidly couples a first region of the case to the spout, and the second fluid passage fluid fluidly couples a second region of the case to the spout. Based on the pressure of the first region and the second region, fluid flowing through the first fluid passage or the second fluid passage accelerates at the outlet of the respective passage to form a vacuum at the spout.

The present teachings provide for a door linkage system including a drive side and a driven side. The drive side includes a drive gear and a drive arm. The driven side includes a driven gear configured to mesh with the drive gear and a guide plate in cooperation with the drive arm. The drive side moves the driven side between an open position and a closed position. Proximate to the open and the closed positions, the drive arm moves the driven side. Between the open and the closed positions, the drive gear moves the driven side.

A heat exchanger assembly, such as a condenser, may employ a portion of a heat exchanger end tank to define a slot with a second portion of the end tank. The first and second portions define an interior volume of the end tank. A flared end of a side plate may reside within the slot and may have a straight portion having a first width, a first step portion having a second width that is wider than the first width, and a second step portion that has a third width that is wider than the second width. The flared end may have a tab that protrudes from the second step portion and that is symmetrical about a longitudinal axis of the side plate. The end tank may define a second slot where the tab resides when the flared end resides over an entire cross-sectional portion of a volume defined by end tank.

An HVAC system is provided for use in a vehicle having a passenger compartment volume. The HVAC system includes a HVAC housing having a duct opening formed in an exterior sidewall thereof. An evaporator is further provided for exhausting air downstream that is cooler than the air on the upstream side. An auxiliary compartment, such as a storage bin, is spaced apart from the HVAC housing, such as in a remote location of the passenger compartment. An auxiliary duct fluidly interconnects the HVAC housing and the auxiliary compartment via the duct opening for transmitting the cool exhausted air to the auxiliary compartment to provide a cooling effect within the auxiliary location. The auxiliary duct, in some embodiments, is disposed external from the HVAC housing for improved service and retrofitting to existing HVAC systems.

A mounting arrangement for a heat exchanger in a vehicle includes a bracket having a main body. A first portion is secured to the heat exchanger and a second portion includes a mounting feature adapted to be secured to another component of the vehicle. A foot is formed on the first portion of the bracket. The foot defines an interface surface brazed to the heat exchanger in an installed position.
