A medical device system may include a sheath, a pusher wire, and a locking element. The pusher wire may be slidably disposed within a lumen of the sheath. The locking element may have a proximal end, a distal end, an intermediate region disposed between the proximal end and the distal end, and a lumen extending from the proximal end to the distal end. The locking element may have a first inner diameter adjacent to the distal end and a second inner diameter adjacent to the proximal end, the second inner diameter smaller than the first outer diameter. The distal end region of the locking element may be configured to freely slide over the sheath and when a proximal end region of the locking element is disposed over the sheath, the locking element may be configured to depress the sheath radially inwards.

Wedge-lock sheath retention mechanism

A method of manufacturing an elongate shaft for delivery of a medical device may include disposing a polymeric sheath having a lumen extending therethrough over a mandrel; sliding a proximal portion of the polymeric sheath into a lumen of a metallic tubular member; placing a polymeric tubular member over the distal portion of the polymeric sheath and a distal portion of the metallic tubular member; fixedly attaching a proximal coupler to a distal end of a longitudinal support filament; inserting a proximal end of the longitudinal support filament between the polymeric sheath and the polymeric tubular member to position the longitudinal support filament alongside the distal portion of the metallic tubular member and a distal portion of the polymeric sheath; and reflowing the polymeric tubular member to secure the longitudinal support filament relative to the polymeric sheath and the metallic tubular member.

Flexible and stretch resistant elongate shaft

A medical device system may include an elongate shaft having a lumen extending from a proximal end to a distal end, a proximal release wire, and a distal release wire. The proximal release wire may extend distally from a proximal end configured to remain outside the body to a distal end and may be slidably disposed within the lumen of the elongate shaft. The proximal release wire may include a distal stopper coupled to the distal end thereof. The distal release wire may extend distally from a proximal end to a distal end and may be slidably disposed within the lumen of the elongate shaft. The proximal end of the distal release wire may be slidably coupled to the distal end of the proximal release wire. The distal release wire may be configured to releasably attach a medical device to the distal end of the elongate shaft.

Medical device release system

Exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure relate to devices, systems, and methods for tissue resection in a body lumen of a patient, and may include an endoscope and a backstop delivery device extendable through the endoscope. The backstop delivery device may deliver a backstop to a location of selected tissue for resection. A backstop may include a covering being deployable in a patient. The covering may have one or more anchoring mechanisms disposed on an edge of the covering. A tissue resecting device may be extendable through the endoscope for resecting the selected tissue for resection. The covering may be deployable to an outer surface of the body lumen, such that the anchoring mechanism may secure the covering to the outer surface of the body lumen and the covering may expand to cover the selected tissue for resection.

Devices, systems, and methods for tissue resection

This disclosure concerns release mechanisms for medical implants, particularly embolic coils and the like, which utilize bulbous elements and receiving elements to constrain the bulbous elements. In some cases, the receiving elements are sized and shaped to help constrain the bulbous element axially and/or radially, and may work in concert with constraining elements and/or release wires that are optionally moveable independently of the receiving elements.

A clip for reducing a dimension of an opening in tissue may include a continuous member having a plurality of legs and a plurality of preformed bends connecting adjacent legs, wherein the plurality of legs form: a first group having two protrusions; a second group having two protrusions; and a third group having two protrusions, wherein each protrusion of each group includes two legs of the continuous member and a corresponding preformed bend connecting the two legs, and each protrusion of each group extends from a region adjacent a first end of the clip to a region adjacent a second end of the clip.

Devices and methods for reducing a dimension of openings in tissue

A medical device system may include an elongate shaft having a lumen extending from a proximal end to a distal end, a proximal release wire, and a distal release wire. The proximal release wire may extend distally from a proximal end configured to remain outside the body to a distal end and may be slidably disposed within the lumen of the elongate shaft. The distal release wire may extend distally from a proximal end to a distal end and may be slidably disposed within the lumen of the elongate shaft. The proximal end of the distal release wire may be slidably coupled to the distal end of the proximal release wire. The distal release wire may be configured to releasably attach a medical device to the distal end of the elongate shaft.

Systems and methods for treating tissue may include one or more delivery devices, a grasping element, a first ring for anchoring to a wall of a gastrointestinal tract, and a second ring operably couplable to a radially inward surface of the first ring. Other embodiments include methods of treating tissues, including tubular tracts of tissue, comprising coupling a first ring to first tissue of a wall of a tissue tract, relocating a target tissue proximally to a position proximal to the first ring, coupling a second ring to the first ring, and cutting tissue proximal to the interface of the first and second rings.

Systems and related methods for tissue treatment

Embolic material delivery devices and methods of using them are disclosed. An example embolic material delivery assembly includes an outer member having a lumen extending therein and a distal end region, an inner member disposed within the lumen of the outer member, wherein the inner member includes a first lumen extending therein. The embolic material delivery assembly also includes a first embolic material extending within the first lumen of the inner member, the embolic material having a first distal end region. The embolic material delivery assembly also includes an anchor disposed within the lumen of the outer member, the anchor having a first attachment region. Further, the first distal end region of the first embolic material is coupled to the first attachment region of the anchor.

Delivery device for use with an embolic material

A vascular occlusion device for deployment within a lumen of a vessel may include a self-expanding frame configured to shift between a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration, the self-expanding frame defining a perimeter of an interior space disposed within the self-expanding frame, and an occlusive membrane secured to the self-expanding frame. The occlusive membrane may include a suspended portion disposed within the self-expanding frame and spaced apart from the perimeter of the interior space.

Vascular occlusion device

A medical device system may include an elongate shaft having a lumen extending from a proximal end to a distal end, a release wire disposed within the lumen of the elongate shaft configured to releasably attach a medical device to the distal end of the elongate shaft, and a securement member releasably coupled to the proximal end of the elongate shaft and fixedly attached to a proximal end of the release wire. A proximal portion of the securement member may be configured to translate proximally away from the proximal end of the elongate shaft upon application of a proximally-directed force to the proximal portion of the securement member and radially inward directed force to the distal portion of the securement member while the elongate shaft is maintained in a fixed position.

Stent delivery systems and methods for making and using the same are disclosed. An example stent delivery system may include an inner member. A deployment sheath may be disposed about the inner member. A stent may be disposed between the inner member and the deployment sheath. The deployment sheath may include a translucent reinforcing member that allows for visualization of the stent during stent deployment.

A medical device system may include an elongate shaft having a lumen extending from a proximal end to a distal end, a release wire disposed within the lumen of the elongate shaft configured to releasably attach a medical device to the distal end of the elongate shaft, and a securement member fixedly attached to the proximal end of the elongate shaft and to a proximal end of the release wire. A proximal portion of the securement member may be configured to translate proximally away from the proximal end of the elongate shaft upon application of a proximally-directed force to the proximal portion of the securement member while the elongate shaft is maintained in a fixed position, wherein the proximal portion remains connected to the proximal end of the elongate shaft after proximal translation away from the proximal end of the elongate shaft.
