Described herein are techniques for enabling remote implementation and enforcement of usage settings on one or more user devices. In some embodiments, a wireless carrier network maintains information on relationships between various user devices. Each relationship may be active under specified conditions (e.g., time and/or location) and is associated with usage settings that dictate one or more rules to be enforced while the relationship is active. In some embodiments, a set of usage settings may be generated for a particular user device based on all active relationships associated with that user device. The set of usage settings may be enforced by a mobile application installed upon a user device or by a wireless carrier network that blocks certain network traffic to and/or from the user device.

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for implementing an accident reporter are disclosed. In one aspect, a method includes the actions of receiving data that reflects characteristics of a vehicle. The actions further include, based on the data, determining that the vehicle has been in an accident. The actions further include, based on determining that the vehicle has been in an accident and based on the data that reflects the characteristics of the vehicle, determining a classification of the accident. The actions further include determining additional data to collect and a recipient of a description of the accident. The actions further include receiving the additional data. The actions further include generating the description of the accident based on the data that reflects the characteristics of a vehicle and the additional data. The actions further include providing, for output, the description of the accident.

Accident reporter

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for implementing adaptive geofence alerts are disclosed. In one aspect, a method includes the actions of receiving, by a server, data inputted into a first computing device of a first user. The actions further include, determining, by the server, a future location of a second user and a future time when the second user will likely be at the future location. The actions further include determining, by the server, a second computing device of the second user. The actions further include providing, for output to the second computing device, instructions to provide, to the server, location information of the second computing device based on a location of the second computing device being at least a threshold distance from the future location at the future time.

Adaptive location alerts

This disclosure describes techniques that enable a vehicle remote start controller to initiate a remote start of an idle vehicle. The remote start controller may retrieve sensor data associated with a vehicle and analyze the sensor data to determine the current state of the vehicle. In doing so, the remote start controller may determine whether to initiate a remote start of the vehicle based at least in part on the current state. In response to determining to initiate the remote start, the remote start controller may generate computer-executable instructions for delivery to the vehicle that initiates the remote start.

In one aspect, a method includes the actions of receiving, from a computing device, data that reflects characteristics of a vehicle. The actions further include, based on the data that reflects the characteristics of the vehicle, determining a characteristic of a road traveled by the vehicle. The actions further include, based on the characteristic of the road traveled by the vehicle, generating an instruction to perform an action. The actions further include providing, for output, the instruction to perform the action.

Road condition reporter

A central IoT controller is described for conserving power resources of mobile IoT devices. Specifically, the central IoT controller is configured to at least monitor power reserves of mobile IoT devices, and in response to detecting that a power reserve has fallen below a predetermined threshold, generate computer-executable instructions that adjust configuration settings of the mobile IoT devices to conserve a remaining power reserve. The central IoT controller may modify a check-in interval for mobile IoT devices, configure the transmission of data communications via more power-efficient communication protocols, or reduce the number of active sensors on the mobile IoT device based on proximity to a trusted geolocation or a trusted device. Further, data communications may be rerouted via a proximate trusted device or other proximate mobile IoT device, in response to such device providing an efficiency with respect to available communication protocols.

Optimizing power resources for interconnected mobile IOT devices

The present disclosure describes techniques for determining whether a communication request is associated with a legitimate communication or spoof communication, prior to establishing the connection. A Parallel Path Caller Verification (PPCV) controller is described that is configured to intercept a communication request from an originating device and generate a proof-of-identity (PoI) message for delivery to the originating device. Upon receipt of a reply message that is responsive to the PoI message, the PPCV controller may determine whether the communication is a legitimate communication. If the communication is determined as legitimate, the PPCV controller may establish a communication based on the communication request.

Systems and methods for providing contextual interaction with connected devices are described. A mobile device having a display that presents a user interface enabling access to functionalities provided by connected devices. The user interface may be updated as various contextually-related data is received. For example, data representing a current position of the mobile device, such as Bluetooth low energy beacon signals, WiFi signals, and the like, may be monitored. In response to determining that the current position is within a threshold proximity of a first location, the user interface may be updated to emphasize a first location interface corresponding to the first location over interfaces corresponding to other locations.

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for optimizing streaming content are disclosed. In one aspect, a method includes the actions of determining that a user device participating in a content streaming service will transition from a first wireless service coverage area to a second wireless service coverage area that provides a lower quality wireless service relative to the first wireless service coverage area. The actions further include, prior to the user device transitioning from the first wireless service coverage area to the second wireless service coverage area, increasing a resource associated with the content streaming service and the user device. The actions further include, after the user device transitions from the first wireless service coverage area to the second wireless service coverage area, decreasing the resource associated with the content streaming service and the user device.

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for implementing menu-based communication are disclosed. In one aspect, a method includes the actions of receiving, from a first computing device, a communication and data identifying a second computing device as a recipient of the communication. The actions may further include determining a first and second candidate response to the communication. The actions may further include providing, to the second computing device, the communication, the first and second candidate responses, and instructions to provide, for output by the second computing device, the first and second candidate responses as selectable responses to the communication. The actions may further include receiving, from the second computing device, the selection of the first or second candidate response. The actions may further include providing, for output to the first computing device, data indicating the selection of the first or second candidate response.

In one aspect, a method includes the actions of receiving a telephone call. The actions further include determining characteristics of the telephone call.
