Methods and devices for wired charging and communication with a wearable device are described. In one embodiment, a symmetrical contact interface comprises a first contact pad and a second contact pad, and particular wired circuitry is coupled to the first and second contact pads to enable charging as well as receive and transmit communications via the contact pads as part of various device states.

Circuits and methods for wearable device charging and wired control

Systems and methods for managing temperatures of wearable device components are disclosed. In one aspects, a method includes determining a temperature of an electronic component of the wearable device, determining a rate of temperature change of the electronic component, and determining whether to increase or decrease a transmission rate limit of the electronic component based on the temperature and the rate, adjusting the transmission rate limit based on the determination, and limiting a rate of transmission of the electronic component based on the adjusted transmission rate limit.

Temperature management in wearable devices

Systems, devices, media, and methods are presented for adaptively estimating power. The systems and methods measure an electrical potential of a power source coupled to a wearable computing device and determine a current power consumption on the power source. The systems and methods identify a current slope value mapping the electrical potential to an estimated capacity percentage based on the measured electrical potential. The systems and methods determine a correction value based on the current power consumption and the current slope value and generate a current capacity value from the electrical potential and the correction value. The systems and methods cause presentation of a representation of the current capacity value within a power indicator and control one or more processes operating within the wearable computing device based on the current capacity value.

Adaptive power estimation system

Systems and methods for managing temperatures of wearable device components are disclosed. In one aspect, a wearable electronic device includes glasses, a wireless transmitter, an ambient temperature sensor, hardware processing circuitry, and a hardware memory storing instructions that when executed configure the hardware processing circuitry to determine an ambient temperature using the ambient temperature sensor, determine a maximum temperature of the wearable electronic device based on the ambient temperature, determine a temperature of the wearable electronic device, determine a difference between the maximum wearable temperature and the determined temperature of the wearable electronic device, and adjust a transmission rate of the wireless transmitter based on the difference.
