A method is provided for presenting battery degradation of a rechargeable battery to a user of an electronic device. The method comprising the following steps. An initial capacity and a remaining capacity of the rechargeable battery are obtained. The battery degradation is determined as a proportion of a difference between the initial capacity and the remaining capacity to the initial capacity. The battery degradation is visually displayed on a display of the electronic device as a battery gauge. A system to implement the method is also provided.

Replacement battery indicator on a battery powered device

An enclosure is provided for a device comprising one or more electronic assemblies where the enclosure deforms under a shock in one or more selected manners to dissipate the shock energy. The deformation, which is elastic deformation, occurs at selected parts of the enclosure and/or in selected translations and/or rotations where those selections are made by the designer of the enclosure. By being able to define where and how the deformations will occur, the electronic assemblies can be located, mounted and interconnect within the enclosure such that the deformation does not adversely affect the assemblies or device.

Protective enclosure for an electronic device

A client-host detection device for detecting connecting a connected peripheral is disclosed herein. The device comprises a peripheral sensor connected to a terminal, a terminal sensor connected to or for connection to a peripheral and a terminal electrical connector connected to the terminal for electrical connection with a peripheral electrical connector connected to a peripheral. The peripheral sensor is positioned to sense the terminal sensor upon connection of the terminal electrical connector with the peripheral electrical connector. The device allows for an electrical connector to be maintained in an unpowered state unless a peripheral is connected thereby reducing or preventing de-plating of the contacts of the electrical connector caused by conductive solution across the contacts as a result of the voltage on the connections. The device also allows for the use of an unpowered peripheral.
