A transition duct assembly includes a shared connector, and a plurality of primary cooling pathways for cooling one or more systems or components. Each primary cooling pathway includes a transition duct in fluid communication with the shared connector, and a transition connector in fluid communication with the transition duct.

Articulating bifurcated integrated transition duct assembly

A cooling apparatus includes a shared cooling device for one or more systems or components, and a plurality of primary cooling pathways. Each of the primary cooling pathways includes a transition duct and a fan. The transition duct is in fluid communication with the shared cooling device. The fan is in fluid communication with the transition duct.

Redundant cooling system

A duct interface system and method includes a duct having a first end and a second end; a first receptacle for the first end of the duct and/or a second receptacle for the second end of the duct; and one or more first seals between the first end of the duct and the first receptacle and/or one or more second seals between the second end of the duct and the second receptacle.

Passive gas-leak management system

A fluid connection system for fluidly connecting a pair of fluid reservoirs, such as fuel cells, includes a bellowed portion surrounding a connection portion through which fluid can flow between the two reservoirs. The bellowed portion allows for relative movement between the two reservoirs without breaking the fluid-tight connection between the two reservoirs. Also, a guard member surrounds at least some of the outer periphery of the bellowed portion. The guard member serves as a shield around the fluid-tight connection and bellowed portion, and thereby helps prevent damage to the fluid-tight connection in the event of a crash or hard landing.

Connection apparatus for improving the crashworthiness of aircraft fluid systems

A rotorcraft includes a fuselage having a fuel tank receiving assembly with a fuel tank positioned therein. The fuel tank including a plurality of interconnected fuel bags operable to contain liquid fuel. A network of straps is disposed about the fuel tank forming a restraint assembly. The network of straps includes at least one perimeter strap extending at least partially about at least two fuel bags and at least one surrounding strap extending at least partially about the at least two fuel bags. The at least one perimeter strap has at least two intersections with the at least one surrounding strap.

Rotorcraft fuel system having enhanced crash resistance

A valve assembly for an engine, the valve assembly can include a housing; an in-flow port configured for connection with a drain line; a first out-flow port configured for connection with a fuel line; a second out-flow port configured for connection with a disposal line; and a passageway that is rotatable with a handle, the passageway being operable to redirect a flow of a fluid between the fuel line and the disposal line. The handle is configured to impede an attachment of the fluid source to a water wash connection when the passageway is in a position to direct the flow of the fluid from the drain line to the fuel line.
