Tissue paper having indicia disposed thereon. The tissue paper may be through air dried, or otherwise structured to provide a texture on at least one face. The textured face of the tissue paper has indicia printed thereon. The indicia provides a high fidelity, realistic visual impression of whatever is represented thereby. This realistic impression allows the indicia to be taken from photographic sources, as well as artwork.

A single- or multi-ply disposable article comprises at least one foreshortened, wet-extensible ply that has a surface topography exhibiting regions of minimum and maximum calipers comprising creping ridges, wherein the creping ridges are oriented in a first direction; and a coating bonded to the at least one foreshortened ply, the coating defining bonded regions and a plurality of unbonded regions in the ply. The minimum caliper is coincident the bonded regions, and the coating comprises a plurality of mutually parallel lines of adhesive extending in a second direction substantially perpendicular to the first direction.

Disposable article with enhanced texture

Disclosed are disposable cleansing articles ( ) which comprise a multi-phase, multi-component emulsion ( ) and an activation web ( ) that facilitates activation of the emulsion during use. In a preferred embodiment, the multi-phase emulsion is a high internal phase inverse emulsion having a continuous external lipid phase and a discontinuous internal polar phase. During use, the activation web facilitates breakage of the emulsion's external phase, thereby releasing the internal phase for its desired use. Because the internal liquid phase may account for up to about 97% of the emulsion, significant levels of fluid (e.g., water or a polar liquid) may be delivered from a &ldquo;dry&rdquo; wipe.

Wet-like articles comprising a multi-phase, multi-component emulsion and an activation web

A single- or multi-ply disposable wiping article is disclosed. The disposable wiping article comprises at least one web layer and has a surface topography exhibiting regions of minimum and maximum calipers. A continuous polymer network defining bonded regions and a plurality of unbonded regions is bonded to the web layer. The continuous polymer network is preferably a thermoplastic adhesive. After curing, the thermoplastic adhesive can contract upon heating, thereby creating puckered regions of maximum caliper coincident unbonded regions. The minimum caliper of the web layer is coincident the bonded regions. Methods of making the web of the present invention are disclosed. One method includes providing a first web layer; providing a thermoplastic adhesive; applying the thermoplastic adhesive to the first web layer in a continuous network; curing the thermoplastic adhesive; and heating the thermoplastic adhesive to effect contraction of the thermoplastic adhesive.

Disposable wiping article with enhanced texture and method for manufacture

A method for enhancing the color density of printed paper comprising a print enhancing fluid. The print enhancing fluid is applied to the paper prior to ink application in order to enhance the color density of the image printed on the paper. Utilization of the print enhancing fluid of this invention also provides improved printing press hygiene and printing process efficiency especially when printing paper products having high color density images.

Means for enhancing print color density

A disposable wiping article is disclosed having at least a first layer and a second plastic film layer. The first layer has a wet extensibility greater than that of the second, layer. The first layer can be a dry creped web of cellulosic fibers, and the second layer can be an apertured, three dimensional plastic film. Selected portions of the first layer are bonded to the second layer to inhibit wet extension of the first layer in the plane of the first layer. In one embodiment, the wiping article comprises a third layer which can be a dry creped, apertured web of cellulosic fibers having a wet extensibility greater than that of the second layer. The second plastic film layer is disposed between the first layer and the third layer and inhibits wet extension of both the first and third layer when wetted.

Multiple layer wipe

The present invention provides a disposable wiping article. The wiping article may be single-layer (single-ply), or multi-layer (multi-ply). At least one layer (the only layer in a single-layer wiping article) is a primary layer and is wet extensible. A discontinuous coating is applied to selected portions of the wet extensible primary layer and cured to form a constraining component which inhibits wet extension of the primary layer in the plane of the primary layer. As a result, the primary layer deforms, such as by buckling or puckering, in the Z-direction (perpendicular to the plane of the primary layer), resulting in increased caliper, bulk, and texture. In one embodiment, more than one primary layer may be used in a single wiping article.

Wiping article which exhibits differential wet extensibility characteristics

The present invention relates to a substantially dry, disposable, personal cleansing article useful for both cleansing the skin or hair, and more particularly to a disposable, cleansing article having a substrate which preferably comprises of multiple layers. These articles are used by the consumer by wetting the dry article with water. The article comprises a water insoluble substrate having at least a first portion that is wet extensible and at least a second portion that is less wet extensible than said first portion and a lathering surfactant. Preferably, the articles of the present invention further comprise a conditioning component.

Cleansing and conditioning article for skin or hair

Disclosed are articles useful in cleansing, and particularly wet-like cleansing wipes, which are dry until used, where fluid is released from the article. These articles comprise: a. a carrier comprising a cellulosic fibrous structure having at least a first region of relatively high basis weight that comprises an essentially continuous network and a second region of a plurality of mutually discrete regions of relatively low basis weight which are circumscribed by the high basis weight first region; and b. an emulsion applied to the carrier, where the emulsion provides fluid for cleaning when shear forces are applied to the article. The first and second regions of the cellulosic fibrous structure are disposed in a nonrandom, repeating pattern. The articles offer a number of significant advantages over prior cleaning products when in the form of wet-like cleansing wipes such as those used for cleaning of hardsurfaces (e.g., floors, countertops, sinks, bathtubs, toilets, and the like). The inclusion of low basis weight regions avoids substantial fluid retention by the cellulosic fibrous substrate, which allows fluid delivery to the surface being cleaned. The articles can be used in many applications requiring the delivery of polar materials, in particular water and water-soluble or dispersible actives. These include toilet tissue, wipes for personal cleansing, such as baby wipes, as well as those for the delivery of water-soluble or dispersible antimicrobials or pharmaceutical actives.

Also disclosed is a sanitary disposable paper product having high color density print characteristics which exhibits improved resistance to ink rub-off. The sanitary disposable paper product comprises a fibrous sheet containing cellulose wherein the ink is applied to at least one surface of the paper.

A disposable wiping article is disclosed. The disposable wiping article has at least two layers. The first layer has a wet extensibility greater than that of the second layer. The first layer can be an apertured, dry creped web of cellulosic fibers, and the second layer can be a nonwoven web comprising synthetic fibers. Selected portions of the first layer are bonded to the second layer to inhibit wet extension of the first layer in the plane of the first layer.

Multiple layer wiping article

Wet-like cleaning wipes and similar articles are described. These wipes comprise a carrier that provides controlled fluid absorbency and an emulsion applied to the carrier. The emulsion comprises a continuous external lipid phase and a polar (e.g., water) internal phase. The emulsion is sufficiently brittle that it ruptures when subjected to low shear pressures during use to release the dispersed polar phase. The carrier allows the released internal phase to initially reach and remain on the surface being cleaned, but then absorbs the material at the end of the wiping process.
