An adhesive composition containing a chlorinated ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer and at least one of a phenolic resin and an aromatic nitroso compound as an adhesion-promoting additive. The chlorinated ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer can be prepared without the utilization of environmentally hazardous chlorinated solvents and provides for adhesive compositions which exhibit excellent adhesion and resistance to adverse environmental conditions.

Adhesive compositions based on chlorinated ethylene/vinyl acetate

A chemical formulation useful as a coating, primer or adhesive including a linear polyester polyurethane, a halogenated polyolefin, a phenolic resin, and a cross-linker. The formulation is preferably utilized as a two-component adhesive for bonding polymer blend-based thermoplastic elastomers to various substrates such as metal.

Thermoplastic elastomer adhesive

Compositions comprising at least one isocyanate-functional organosilane, preferably in combination with at least one polyisocyanate, and, optimally, at least one aromatic nitroso compound having been found to be unexpectedly effective as storage-stable, single-package, one-coat adhesive systems for bonding a variety of elastomeric materials to themselves and other solid substrates, such as metal, fabric, ceramic, and the like substrates. The use of aromatic nitroso compounds is necessary with certain isocyanatosilanes and optional with others, but, in all cases, affords improved performance, especially with respect to environmental resistance.

One-coat adhesive systems
