A compressor includes a shell, a bearing housing, an orbiting scroll, a non-orbiting scroll and a spacer. The bearing housing includes a central body and a plurality of arms extending radially outwardly from the central body. Each of the arms has a first aperture. The non-orbiting scroll is meshingly engaged with the orbiting scroll and includes a plurality of second apertures. Each second aperture receives a bushing defining a first longitudinal axis and a fastener defining a second longitudinal axis. The fastener extends through the bushing and into a corresponding one of the first apertures in the bearing housing. The spacer is disposed between the bushing and the fastener of each second aperture and is configured to engage one of the bushing and the fastener to restrict radial misalignment between the first longitudinal axis of the bushing and the second longitudinal axis of the fastener.

Compressor having a bushing assembly

A compressor includes a shell, a compression mechanism, a motor assembly, a driveshaft, and a bearing assembly. The driveshaft is drivingly engaged with the motor assembly and the compression mechanism for rotation about an axis and extends from a first end to a second end. The bearing assembly is disposed within the shell and supports the driveshaft for rotation. The bearing assembly includes a bracket, a hub, and a bushing. The bracket is coupled to the shell and includes an aperture. The hub is disposed within the aperture and defines a bore having a radially inwardly extending lip. The bushing includes a first portion and a second portion. The second portion of the bushing includes a plurality of radially extending engagement features. The second portion of the bushing is disposed within the bore of the hub such that the engagement features engage the lip of the hub.

A compressor includes a shell, a motor assembly, a driveshaft, and a bearing assembly. The bearing assembly is disposed within the shell and supports the driveshaft for rotation. The bearing assembly includes a bracket, a hub, and a bushing. The bracket is coupled to the shell and includes an aperture. The hub is disposed within the aperture and defines a bore having a radially inwardly extending lip. The bushing includes a proximal portion and a distal portion. The distal portion of the bushing includes a plurality of radially extending engagement features. The distal portion of the bushing is disposed within the bore of the hub such that the engagement features engage the lip of the hub.

A scroll machine has a shell which houses a first scroll member, a second scroll member, a driving member and a bearing housing. The bearing housing rotatably supports the driving member and is attached to the shell. The bearing housing is designed such that it can be fully machined while being located and clamped into a single position. By completing the entire machining of the bearing housing in a single operation, multiple set-ups, multiple operations and tolerance stack up are eliminated creating a high quality component.
