Methods including providing an actual formation core sample; determining an internal anatomy of at least a portion of the actual formation core sample; determining a virtual 3D model of the external anatomy of the actual formation core sample in a computer readable format, wherein the virtual 3D model of the external anatomy of the actual formation core sample is represented by successive 2D cross-sectional layers; providing a 3D printer; transmitting the virtual 3D model of the external anatomy of the actual formation core sample to the 3D printer; and printing a facsimile core sample using the 3D printer, thereby replicating at least a portion of the external anatomy of the actual formation core sample.

Methods and systems of delivering a treatment chemical are disclosed, including providing a plurality of porous particles each having an outer surface, wherein each of the plurality of porous particles comprises a plurality of pores; infusing the plurality of porous particles with the treatment chemical; coating the plurality of porous particles with a degradable film; adding the plurality of porous particles to a carrier fluid, wherein the degradable film substantially separates the treatment chemical from the carrier fluid; introducing the carrier fluid into a formation; and allowing the degradable film to degrade within the formation.

Delayed delivery of chemicals in a wellbore

An adjustable release pressure relief valve including a housing having an inlet and a relief outlet connected by a fluid flow passageway, the inlet fluidly connectible to a work string. A head is sealingly disposed within the passageway between the inlet and relief outlet closing the fluid flow passageway between the inlet and relief outlet. An elongate buckling rod supports the head and is bucklable at a predetermined load thereby permitting sliding of the head from between the inlet and a relief outlet and opening the fluid flow passageway. A lateral support projection is extendable within the housing to buttress the buckling rod along the longitudinal length of the buckling rod thereby increasing the load at which the buckling rod is collapsible.

A method of servicing a subterranean formation comprising providing a wellbore penetrating the subterranean formation and having a casing string disposed therein, the casing string comprising a plurality of points of entry, wherein each of the plurality of points of entry provides a route a fluid communication from the casing string to the subterranean formation, introducing a treatment fluid into the subterranean formation via a first flowpath, and diverting the treatment fluid from the first flowpath into the formation to a second flowpath into the formation.
