The present invention relates to an automated massage apparatus () having a substantially horizontal bed () which provides a massage surface (). A massage element or roller () can move relative to the massage surface to provide an automated massage to the whole or selected parts of the body of a user lying upon the bed.

Automated massage apparatus

This invention relates to a bagged vacuum cleaner, i.e. to a vacuum cleaner in which dirt and debris is collected in a disposable bag. The vacuum cleaner () has a body (), the body having a dirt-collection chamber (), a motor () and an impeller (). The body also has an inlet duct () upstream of the dirt-collection chamber, the inlet duct being connected to an inlet tube () adapted to fit to an opening of the disposable bag. A wall () of the inlet duct adjacent to the inlet tube () is transparent so that a user can look through the wall and into the inlet tube to observe whether or not the bag is full.

Bagged vacuum cleaner

This invention relates to a dirt-collection chamber () for a vacuum cleaner, and in particular a dirt-collection chamber () which is removable whereby the collected dirt can easily be disposed of. The dirt-collection chamber () has an air inlet () and an air outlet (), a filter () between the air inlet () and the air outlet (), and a disposal opening with an openable cover (). The dirt-collection chamber () has a dirt-removal panel () in the chamber which is movable towards and away from the disposal opening to assist in the disposal of collected dirt and debris.

Dirt-collection chamber and suction head for a vacuum cleaner

This invention relates to a suction head () for a vacuum cleaner and method of operation. The suction head () has a bottom surface () and one or more floor-engaging parts () adjacent to the bottom surface (), an opening () in the bottom surface () and a rotatable brush () located at the opening (). The suction head () has a front end () and a rear end (), the front end () having a recess () in communication with the opening (). A movable strip () is located in the recess (), the movable strip () being movable between a first position and a second position, the bottom edge of the movable strip() being closer to the plane of the floor-engaging parts () in its first position than in its second position. At least one first element () is connected to the movable strip () and is able to project to the plane of the floor-engaging parts (). At least one second element () is also connected to the movable strip (), the second element(s) () being configured differently to the first element(s) (), the second element(s) () being able to project to the plane of the floor-engaging parts () and being configured to move the movable strip () to a third position in use. The bottom edge of the movable strip () is closer to the plane of the floor-engaging parts () in its second position than in its third position. According to the method of operation, the movable strip () moves to its first position during backwards movement of the suction head () and to its third position during forwards movement of the suction head (), the movable strip () moving to its third position in two stages.

Suction head for a vacuum cleaner and method of operation

This invention relates to a hand-held vacuum cleaner (). The vacuum cleaner is expected to have particular utility for cleaning locations which are difficult to reach with a conventional vacuum cleaner. The vacuum cleaner () has a body () with a substantially planar base () upon which the vacuum cleaner can rest when not in use, the body having a carrying handle (), a motor () and an impeller () located within the body, the vacuum cleaner also having a collector () and a battery pack (), the battery pack providing at least a part of the base (). The motor and the battery pack are located between the base and the collector so as to lower the center of gravity and make the vacuum cleaner more comfortable for use, especially over long periods. Ideally, the center of gravity is close to the carrying handle, and between the carrying handle and the nozzle so that the vacuum cleaner is slightly 'nose heavy'.

Hand-held vacuum cleaner

A vacuum cleaner is described, and in particular a battery-powered vacuum cleaner including a rotatable brush. The vacuum cleaner has a suction head adapted to be moved across a surface to be cleaned, the suction head having a leading end and a trailing end, the suction head having: a rotatable brush, the rotatable brush being located in a brush chamber at the leading end of the suction head, the brush chamber having an opening through which a part of the rotatable brush projects, the opening and the rotatable brush spanning substantially the full width of the suction head; suction means adapted to create a flow of air into the suction head during use; a dirt-collection chamber; a filter located downstream of the dirt-collection chamber; a primary air flow duct connecting the brush chamber to the dirt-collection chamber and through which air can flow into the dirt collection chamber during use, a secondary air flow duct connected to the dirt-collection chamber and through which air can flow into the dirt collection chamber during use, the secondary air flow duct comprising a length of hose terminating in an inlet nozzle.

This invention relates to a vacuum cleaner (), and in particular a vacuum cleaner () having a rotatable brush (). The vacuum cleaner () has a travelling head () adapted to be moved across a surface to be cleaned, the travelling head () having a leading end () and a trailing end. The travelling head () has a rotatable brush (), the rotatable brush () being located in a brush chamber () at the leading end of the travelling head (), the brush chamber () having an opening () through which a part of the rotatable brush () projects, the opening () and the rotatable brush () spanning substantially the full width of the travelling head (). The travelling head () also has an impeller (), and a motor () for driving the rotatable brush () and the impeller (). The travelling head () has a removable dirt-collection chamber () spanning substantially the full width of the travelling head, and a filter means () located between the dirt-collection chamber () and the impeller (), the filter means () also spanning substantially the full width of the travelling head.

A suction head for a vacuum cleaner comprises a hollow body including a pair of arms () which diverge from predetermined region of the body at an acute angle. Each arm is formed with a channel () for the passage of air. An outlet opening () is located in the region of the body from which the arms diverge for the passage of air to a vacuum cleaner. A first continuous ground-engaging barrier () extends along the region of an inner edge () of one of the arms (). A second continuous ground-engaging barrier () extends along the region of an inner edge () of the other of the arms (). A gap () is formed between the first and second barriers () for the passage of relatively large particles of debris into the suction head.
