Disclosed are systems of positional tracking of a downhole projectile using a downhole monitoring tool. One downhole monitoring tool includes a body, at least one sensor arranged on the body and configured to detect a wellbore projectile, an indicator chamber defined in the body and configured to retain an indicator substance, and an actuation device operatively coupled to the indicator chamber and in communication with the at least one sensor, wherein, when the at least one sensor detects the wellbore projectile, a command signal is sent to the actuation device to actuate the indicator chamber and thereby release at least a portion of the indicator substance through an ejection port.

A method of filtering a wellbore fluid can include receiving a wellbore fluid in a chamber. The chamber can be defined by an inner surface of a casing string that is positioned downhole in a wellbore. The method can further include filtering debris particles from the wellbore fluid by a filter assembly positioned within an inner region of the casing string. The filter assembly may include a plurality of slots and the filter assembly may be rotated by the wellbore fluid passing through the plurality of slots in the filter assembly.

A centralizer for downhole OCTG having a storage space capable of housing downhole electronics and other downhole devices, compositions and elements is disclosed. The storage space is located within an inner cavity formed in one or more of the blades making up the centralizer. A capsule is provided for protecting the contents of the items being stored within the inner cavity. The capsule may be hermetically sealed to protect the contents from the damaging effects of downhole fluids. Ports may be provided within the capsule to allow downhole electronics to be connected to sensors and other devices and components residing outside of the capsule.

The magnetic seat and magnetic plug operationally engage so as to have a magnetic resistivity such that there is a first position in which the magnetic plug does not sealingly engage the magnetic seat and a second position where the magnetic plug is sealingly engaged with the magnetic seat.

The centralizer is formed of a hollow, cylindrical body, a plurality of non-metallic blades protruding from the outer surface of the cylindrical body, and a plurality of wear buttons positioned on each of the plurality of blades, each of the wear buttons having a surface designed to reduce grabbing or sticking and wear of the hollow cylindrical body.

An apparatus can include a filter element that is positionable in a tubing string. The filter element can have a closed end and an open end. A plurality of slots can extend generally radially from the closed end to the open end of the filter element along a length of the filter element.

A system for tracking an object in oil and gas wellbore operations wherein a releasable object carrying a first signal system is released into tube system associated with a wellbore. The first signal system communicates with one or more second signal systems positioned along the travel path of the object; along the surface of the formation; and/or throughout the wellbore. First signal system and the second signal system may communicate by RF signals. First signal system and any second signal systems positioned on the surface communicate by through-the-earth or very low frequency signals. A global positioning system may be utilized in conjunction with any second signal systems on the surface to identify the absolute location of the object in the underground wellbore. The first signal system carried by the object may be a piezoelectric system disposed to transmit a signal when the object experiences a predetermined pressure.

In accordance with embodiments of the present disclosure, a centralizer for aligning a tubular in a wellbore includes a stepped centralizer feature. The stepped centralizer feature includes a composite material with a stepped profile. That is, the stepped centralizer feature includes a first layer of the composite material having a convex rounded side for interfacing with the tubular, and a second layer of the composite material extending from the first layer. The first layer is wider than the second layer. The stepped centralizer feature may be a centralizer blade bonded to an outer surface of the tubular, or a stop collar used to hold a centralizer spring in place on the tubular. The stepped centralizer feature helps to distribute stress through the centralizer feature so that the centralizer feature does not crack or de-bond from the tubular in low temperature, high pressure environments.

A float valve can include a selection mechanism having an open configuration in which flow into and out of the valve is permitted, and a closed configuration in which flow out of the valve is permitted and flow into the valve is prevented. The selection mechanism can be actuated from the closed configuration to the open configuration. A method of actuating a float valve can include actuating the valve from a closed configuration in which flow into the valve is prevented but flow out of the valve is permitted, to an open configuration in which flow into and out of the valve is permitted. The valve can actuate from the open configuration to the closed configuration, and from the closed to the open configuration, in response to a flow rate through the valve being greater than a predetermined level.

A system for use in a wellbore that penetrates a subterranean formation, the system comprising: a wellbore; and a ball, wherein the ball performs one or more wellbore operations, and wherein the ball breaks apart into two or more pieces when a pressure is applied to the ball. A method of performing an operation in a wellbore, the method comprising: introducing a ball into the wellbore; causing or allowing the ball to perform at least one wellbore operation; and causing the ball to break into two or more pieces after performing the at least one wellbore operation. The ball can also perform more than one wellbore operation. The ball can also contain a core.

A method and apparatus for preventing fluid flow and contamination to a cement body includes a resin cap covering an exposed end of the cement body. The cement body may attach an inner sleeve to an outer sleeve. The fluid flowing through the outer sleeve is prevented from contacting the exposed surface by the resin cap. Resin caps at both ends of the cement body along with resin layers along the side may be included. The resin prevents contamination and creation of micro-annuli in the cement body.

An assembly can include a filter body having an open end and a closed end. The filter body can also include a plurality of perforations. A fan may be positionable within the filter body. The fan may include a mount that extends along a length of the fan. A blade may be coupled to and extend from the mount. The fan may also include an outer edge of the blade for contacting an inner surface of the filter body.
