This disclosure generally relates to a light electric vehicle. More specifically, this disclosure describes how to limit or restrict access to a light electric vehicle based on determined or anticipated environmental conditions. The disclosure also describes how to change one or more capabilities or operating parameters of the light electric vehicle based on determined and/or anticipated environmental conditions.

A safety mechanism of a rechargeable battery for light electric vehicles. The rechargeable battery may include a housing containing a battery management system and at least one battery cell, and a communication system communicatively coupled to the battery management system, to communicate information received from the battery management system to a device external to the rechargeable battery. The rechargeable battery may include a housing formed of a first clamshell member and a second clamshell member. The rechargeable battery may include a first protrusion portion extending from an interior surface of the first clamshell member and a second protrusion portion extending from the interior surface of the second clamshell member toward the first protrusion portion such that the first and second protrusion portions physically contact one another when a force is applied to an external surface of the housing.

Safety mechanisms for a rechargeable battery

The housing of a lock assembly for securing a wheeled vehicle contains a cable which is wound around a cable reel within the housing. The cable reel rotates around a reel axis and has two ends. The first end of the cable is connected to the cable reel while the second end of the cable has a locking feature. A lock core has a receptacle configured to receive the locking feature at the end of the cable. An axis of the core is substantially parallel to the reel axis.

Lock assembly for securing a wheeled vehicle

A mobile device mounting system includes two jaws. The first jaw is generally fixed in position to a wheeled vehicle. The second jaw is pivotably connected to the first jaw via a hinge. The second jaw can be positioned into a closed or open position relative to the first jaw. A biasing element is used to move the second jaw towards the closed position. A support element spans the first and second jaws and may be used to support the mobile device when the mobile device is placed in the mounting system.

The visual indicators may be used to convey various status indicators and/or alerts to an individual that is riding the light electric vehicle.
