An engine system optionally including: a crankcase of an engine having a blow-by gas passing therethrough; a liquid source containing a liquid; and an oil separating apparatus in fluid communication with the blow-by gas. The oil separating apparatus having a coalescing filter to separate oil from the blow-by gas. Separate from the blow-by gas and the coalescing filter, the oil separating apparatus is in fluid communication with the liquid source to receive the liquid. The liquid is passed through the oil separating apparatus in a heat exchange relationship with the blow-by gas to maintain a desired temperature range for the blow-by gas.

Pre-heated crankcase ventilation system architecture

Apparatuses, systems and methods are disclosed including an internal combustion engine. The internal combustion engine can include an engine block defining a combustion cylinder and a crankcase, a piston moveable within the combustion cylinder; a cylinder head coupled to the engine block adjacent to and in fluid communication with the combustion cylinder, and a purge system. The purge system can be in fluid communication with the crankcase. The purge system can supply air to the crankcase and to the cylinder head. The purge system can comprise a valve cover coupled to the cylinder head, a breather coupled to the valve cover, and a fumes disposal line coupled with the breather. The fumes disposal line can transport fumes from the breather and away from the cylinder head.

Internal combustion engine with purge system

A system for an engine includes a heat shield system and a crankcase ventilation system. The heat shield system includes at least one heat shield panel. The crankcase ventilation system includes at least one breather, at least one outlet, and at least one conduit extending from the at least one breather to the at least one outlet. A portion of the at least one conduit is coupled to the at least one heat shield panel to directly transfer heat from the heat shield system to the at least one conduit.

Crankcase ventilation system

A leak detection tool for a double walled fuel rail system is provided. The tool includes a body having a first end and a second end distal with respect to the first end. The tool includes a first passage extending from the first end at least partially towards the second end. The tool includes a second passage axially aligned with and extending from the first passage towards the second end. The tool includes a seat defined at an intersection of the first passage and the second passage. The tool also includes a sealing element provided in association with the seat within the second passage. The tool further includes a spring element provided within the second passage and in contact with the sealing element. The first end is configured to block fluid communication between outer passages of adjacent portions of the double walled fuel rail system.
