Systems and methods are provided for a low impedance optical modulator in an optical device. The optical device includes a distributed amplifier having a plurality of gain stages and is configured to receive a radio frequency (RF) signal at an input of the distributed amplifier having a first impedance and provide an amplified version of the RF signal with a voltage gain produced through the plurality of gain stages to an output of the distributed amplifier having a second impedance smaller than the first impedance. The optical device includes an optical modulator coupled to the distributed amplifier and is configured to receive the amplified version of the RF signal at an input of the optical modulator having a same impedance as the output of the distributed amplifier and modulate the amplified version of the RF signal to produce an intensity modulated optical signal at an output of the optical modulator.

Low impedance optical modulator

An apparatus for connecting a millimeter wave signal to an integrated circuit includes a connector to receive the millimeter wave signal. The connector includes a signal pin. A pin landing pad is conductively coupled to the signal pin. The pin landing pad includes a transition portion. A transmission line is configured to couple the pin landing pad to an input/output (I/O) pad of an integrated circuit. The apparatus further includes an interposer including the pin landing pad, the transmission line, and the I/O pad of the integrated circuit.

Millimeter wave connectors to integrated circuit interposer boards

A wideband interference suppression system comprises at least one signal conditioning device receiving at least one input signal having a signal of interest portion and an interference signal portion, wherein the at least one signal conditioning device is adapted to provide selective, independent, and variable control of one of a phase, a time delay, an amplitude, a radio frequency signal division, and a radio frequency signal summation of the at least one input signal to produce a modified signal. A tunable cross correlator receives a signal representative of the modified signal and is adapted to estimate one of an amplitude, a time delay and a phase delay parameter of the interference signal portion and to generate a control logic signal therefrom, wherein the control logic signal is received by the at least one signal conditioning device for independently and selectively activating and adjusting the various components thereof to suppress the interference signal portion.

System and method for wideband interference suppression

Various aspects of the disclosure provide high power and high efficiency power amplifier systems that can be integrated on a chip using integrated circuit processes such as a standard CMOS and SiGe process. A power amplifier system is disclosed according to one aspect. The power amplifier system comprises a first power amplifier, a Wilkinson power splitter, second-stage amplifiers, and a Wilkinson power combiner. The first power amplifier pre-amplifies an RF input signal. The Wilkinson power splitter then splits the power of the amplified RF signal outputted by the first power amplifier among the second-stage amplifiers. Each of the second-stage amplifiers amplifies the respective RF signal from the Wilkinson power splitter. The Wilkinson power combiner then sums the powers of the amplified RF signals outputted by the second-stage amplifiers and outputs the resulting combined RF signal.
