A system and method for accessing a carrier network by a client device. The method includes: receiving a selection of a first plan from a carrier marketplace that includes at least the first plan and a second plan, wherein the first plan corresponds to a first set of services provided by a first carrier network, and the second plan corresponds to a second set of services provided by a second carrier network; downloading a carrier profile from the server device to a multi-profile UICC (Universal Integrated Circuit Card) included in the client device, wherein the carrier profile is associated with the first plan; and storing the carrier profile in the multi-profile UICC.

System and method for retail SIM marketplace

An advertiser specifies a conversion-based bid for a conversion event associated with an ad. If a conversion event occurs for the ad, an effective conversion-based bid can be adjusted by a risk premium associated with the ad. An account associated with the advertiser can be debited based upon the adjusted effective conversion-based bid.

A system and method for providing an overlay network is provided. The overlay network comprises a database of underlying wireless networks provided by various carriers. Location information, an associated time and wireless network performance parameters of a plurality of wireless networks are collected from a plurality of client devices. The system and method aggregates the performance parameters based on geographic area and a time window. The performance parameters are analyzed to determine a best performing wireless network within each geographic area during the time window. The best performing wireless network is then assigned as a default wireless network for the geographic area during the time window and stored in the database defining the overlay network. The database is then provided to the plurality of client devices to provide a default wireless network for the plurality of client device to attach to when in that geographic area during the time window.

In general, in one aspect, a first request to provide one or more advertisements on a first web page is received, the first web page comprising one or more items of web content related to a query. A first quality score is calculated for a first advertisement included in a set of one or more candidate advertisements. The first advertisement is presented on the first web page based at least in part on the first quality score. A second request is received to provide one or more advertisements on a second web page, the second web page comprising one or more different items of web content related to the query. A second quality score for the first advertisement is calculated based at least in part on the previous presentation of the first advertisement. It is determined whether to present the first advertisement on the second web page based at least in part on the second quality score.

A system to provide search query information. The system receives a request for search query information, identifies a set of search queries from a search query log that includes search queries submitted to a search service over a predetermined length of time, and provides the set of search queries. Each of the set of search queries is matched to the request for search query information by a combination of exact matches, expanded matches, and broad matches.
