The present disclosure relates to a drainage catheter and methods of use for providing catheterization procedures, such as during a percutaneous nephrostomy. The drainage catheter includes a body including a first tube segment and a second tube segment connected to one another at a curved end portion to form a continuous body structure. An inner surface of the curved end portion includes one or more drainage openings extending therethrough, with an outer surface of the curved end portion free of drainage openings. The openings are in communication with a lumen that extends through the drainage catheter to provide a pathway for removing fluid from the kidney. The drainage catheter is inserted into the kidney via a first insertion site and exits via a second insertion site.

A drainage stent delivery system is disclosed. The system can include a catheter body, a stent member, and a coupling member. The coupling member is configured to selectively couple and decouple the catheter body and the stent member. The coupling member can include a first connector, a second connector, and a telescoping connector. A tab of the first connector is configured to be received by a slot of the second connector when the first and second connectors are coupled. The telescoping connector can displace the tab radially outward to be received by the slot. The tab is biased radially inward when the telescoping connector is displaced. When coupled, the catheter body and the stent member are rotationally fixed.

Systems and methods for coupling and decoupling a catheter

A drainage catheter configured for draining bodily fluid from a patient is disclosed. The drainage catheter may comprise a catheter tube with a drainage lumen and a suture lumen. A suture of the drainage catheter may be disposed within the suture lumen. The suture may be coupled to a distal end of the catheter tube and extend proximally through a hub disposed at the proximal end of the catheter tube.

Medical push connectors and systems are provided. A medical push connector can include an engagement member operatively coupled to a release member. The engagement member may releasably couple a medical device to the medical push connector. Medical push connector systems may include one or more medical devices and a medical push connector coupled to, or coupleable to, the one or more medical devices.

Devices used to drain fluid are disclosed. The devices may be configured to drain fluid from a body cavity using a vacuum pressure. The devices include a reservoir and a vacuum generating member configured to expand the reservoir and generate a vacuum pressure within the reservoir. The devices can be configured to be shipped in a collapsed state.

Catheter exchange systems and methods may use a cutting tool to sever an encrusted catheter. The cutting tool may include a flexible cannula to encompass and move along the encrusted catheter. A sheath may selectively cover the cutting tool. The cutting tool may selectively transition between a first position in which the cutter is within the sheath and a second position in which the cutting tool is extended beyond the sheath to sever a suture of the catheter. A locking stylet may be used to secure the position of the encrusted catheter and remove the encrusted catheter.

Expandable introducer systems are provided. An expandable introducer system can include an expandable introducer, an expander, a support member, and/or an exchange dilator. The expandable introducer may be configured to transition from an unexpanded configuration to an expanded configuration. For example, the expander may be displaced through the expandable introducer and transition the expandable introducer from the unexpanded configuration to the expanded configuration. The support member may be disposed within the expandable introducer that is in the expanded configuration to maintain the expandable introducer in the expanded configuration.

A multi-lumen catheter can be used to measure pressure at multiple locations within the vasculature. The multi-lumen catheter can include multiple segments, such as a proximal portion, an intermediate portion, and a distal portion. A segment of a multi-lumen catheter may differ from another segment of the same multi-lumen catheter in radiodensity, hardness, and/or some other characteristic. Some multi-lumen catheters are designed to permit measurements of pressure in different lumens.

Pressure-sensing catheters and related methods

A catheter having a radiopaque marker. The radiopaque marker is disposed on a distal end of the catheter tube and is configured to allow for simple and efficient identification of the location of a predetermined drainage bore on an X-ray or other radiographic technique. In one implementation, the radiopaque marker is associated with the catheter tube such that inclusion of the radiopaque marker does not increase the outer diameter or decrease the inner diameter of the tube.

The present invention is directed to a dilator having a stiffened shaft for use as part of an introducer sheath assembly. The dilator includes a stiffener tube and a tip of the dilator which extends distally to the dilator stiffener tube. The transition between the stiffener tube and the tip of the dilator is positioned such that when the dilator is positioned within the catheter sheath, the transition is also positioned within the catheter sheath. By positioning the transition between the stiffener tube of the dilator and the tip of the dilator inside the catheter sheath, the catheter sheath can provide strain relief subsequent to lateral movement of the tip of the dilator in a manner that can prevent kinking of the dilator tip at the transition between the stiffener tip and the tip of the dilator.

A drainage catheter, including a catheter tube body that can have a pig-tail loop in a distal end, a rigid member configured to be placed inside of the catheter, a pig-tail straightening sleeve configured to move axially along the tube body, the sleeve having a lip formed on an end of the sleeve, the lip being configured to be positioned towards the distal end of the tube body, thereby straightening the catheter tube body and facilitating entry of the rigid member into the catheter tube body when the pig-tail straightening sleeve is positioned to straighten the catheter tube body.

A drainage catheter hub having a rotatable lever handle adapted to secure a suture thread to maintain the anchor configuration of the distal end of the catheter to secure the position of the catheter within the patient's body. The rotatable lever handle has a released position for allowing movement of the suture and a secured position for preventing movement of the suture. A suture securement ridge adapted to secure the proximal portion of the suture that may otherwise remain loose during the procedure. The rotatable lever handle and associated rotatable barrel can be depressed relative to hub body in a locked configuration to prevent inadvertent rotational movement of the rotatable lever handle and a release slot or release button that can be actuated by the practitioner to allow for rotational movement of the rotatable lever handle.
