A compactor machine may include a frame, a compaction member attached to the frame, and a controller attached to the frame. The controller may be configured to detect, while the compactor machine is traveling on a paving material mat to perform compacting, an event that is to cause the compactor machine to perform a stop. The controller may be configured to identify, based on detecting the event, a zone that the compactor machine is to use to perform the stop. The controller may be configured to cause the compactor machine to travel to the zone to perform the stop.

A system for warning that a slope is too steep for securely parking a machine includes: at least one inclinometer configured to be disposed on the machine, the machine being disposed on the slope and to measure a pitch of the machine; a controller that includes a processor and is configured to be operatively connected to the at least one inclinometer and to determine, using the pitch, if the machine cannot park securely; and a warning generator configured to be operatively connected to the controller and to alert at least an operator of the machine that the machine cannot park securely when the controller so determines.

A hydraulic tank protection system is disclosed. The hydraulic tank protection system may include a sensor to detect a characteristic of a fluid, a fluid control device to control a flow of the fluid into or out of a reservoir of a hydraulic tank, and an electronic control module to: receive, from the sensor, information indicating the characteristic of the fluid, determine, based on the characteristic of the fluid, whether the fluid comprises a first type of fluid, and selectively provide a control signal to actuate the fluid control device to control the flow of the fluid into or out of the reservoir based on whether the fluid comprises the first type of fluid.

Hydraulic tank protection system

A construction machine having a frame and at least one compaction member is provided. The machine also includes a propulsion system having a hydraulic motor adapted to rotate the compaction member. The propulsion system also includes a hydraulic pump fluidly coupled to the hydraulic motor via a high pressure line and a low pressure line. The high pressure line allows flow of a fluid at high pressure from the hydraulic pump to the hydraulic motor. The low pressure line allows flow of the fluid at low pressure from the hydraulic motor to the hydraulic pump. The propulsion system further includes a hydraulic valve fluidly coupled to the low pressure line and a casing of the hydraulic motor. The hydraulic valve selectively allows flow of a portion of the fluid at low pressure from the low pressure line to the casing for cooling of the hydraulic motor.
